Summary
In a canon-divergent AU, after suffering his three betrayals, Kunikuzushi is summoned by Ei to act as kagemusha to the puppet Shogun. In present-day Inazuma, at the height of the Vision Hunt Decree, Childe is sent to assist Signora with managing the Delusion Factory and obtaining the gnosis. Stumbling upon Kuni at a grave in Tatarasuna, Childe mistakes him for the Electro Archon and challenges him to a duel for the gnosis. Either he's victorious, or he gets to witness divine power - that's what he thinks, anyway. But instead, Childe finds himself waking up as the boy's captive... and it's not long before he realizes, there's a lot more to the enigmatic puppet than anyone understands.

He blinked. And blinked another time. It was indeed Ran who was sitting on top of him, but not the same Ran that left this morning to go on a mission with the rest of Bonten.
Instead, the image of a very young-looking Ran looked at him with curious eyes and an innocent smile, cocking his head to the side while his small hand played with one of his braids. He looked barely thirteen years old, wearing the exact same clothes as Rindou remembered seeing him with when they were younger; a plain white sweater combined with sweatpants.

When someone else walks through the door, the staring contest dissolved with his Handler as the winner after Hawks whirled around to assess the new threat in the room. Juice drips from where his grip had crushed the juice box, further staining his clothes and making a mess on the bar top. Hawks continues to blink owlishly at the newcomer. The person, who seems to be made of shadow, rather than it clinging to him, looks at him with mild interest, a towel and a bar glass in his hands. His eyes move to address Hawks’ Handler.
“He’s very,” the man pauses, as if choosing his next words carefully, "small.”
His Handler grunts in irritation, and Hawks almost chimes in that he's sorry, he knows he supposed to be bigger.
A hesitant pause.
“Was it-?”
“Fuckin’ drop it,” his Handler spits out.
“Ah, I see,” the other hums tactfully, and wisely drops the topic. Hawks thinks that his eyes are pretty, the color of a flower that grows in the part where he meets Touya sometimes, but he doesn’t tell him. He's not supposed to meet anyone, and he's not supposed to speak without permission.
Or: Hawks get's de-aged and the league takes care of him
