“Yeah.” The man who had saved his life less than an hour ago – the white-haired, absurdly buff, weirdly sexy man Jaskier might have called taciturn if he was feeling charitable and surly if he was feeling less so – dug into his second burger.
Jaskier waited. “Are… you going to tell me what it is?”
The man paused mid-bite, and looked at him reproachfully as if to say how dare you. How dare you interrupt me. Can’t you see I’m enjoying my cheeseburger. Can’t you see this cheeseburger is the most important thing in my life right at the moment. He swallowed, and said, “Geralt.”
It turns out almost getting eaten by a werewolf can make your whole life go careening off in a new, terrifying, wondrous, artistically flourishing direction. Who knew?

Ever since they told the oversized dinosaur reject in the form of an ancient god to piss off things are going pretty well for Marc and Steven. They've resettled in London, found a new job, and adjusted to cohabitation far better than most in their situation. All that's left to do now is wait for Layla to return from Egypt so they can finally be content with their new life. But until that happens they can just sit back, relax, and enjoy their alone time. Except it's not that easy. Because Steven and Marc aren't actually as alone as they think. And after several uncanny events that make it clear that someone else has been using their credit card and eating their food, Marc and Steven quickly realize that someone else is living with them, and they both have a few words to say to their new roommate. If only they could figure everything out before Layla gets home...

She froze where she sat on the ancient altar, wearing only her tank top and automatically trying to tug it down over naked bottom half as a chill rippled up her spine. This man was a stranger she had never seen before, neither Steven Grant nor Marc Spector, and the way his eyes took in everything in the room in a calculating, cold manner put her off tremendously.
He might not know there are two more of him. He might not even know who I am.

Summary
At first, she recognized the cold fury as Marc’s. He stalked closer silently, mouth set thinly and a cold light shining in his eyes.
But then his whole demeanor was off. The set of his shoulders, the tilt of his head. Layla blinked as a gun seemed to appear out of nowhere. She hadn't even realized Marc would've brought a gun. Then it dawned on her that Marc probably hadn't.
With a calmness that felt unnatural, he raised his arm, took aim and shot without hesitation.
Their eyes locked as the frantic pleas for the assassin’s own life were cut short. Layla didn’t look at the gruesome display that comes with being shot in the head, for she couldn’t look away from the calculating look in the stranger’s eyes. He’d been watching her appraisingly, curious to see how’d she’d react.
“You,” Layla said simply, unable to tear her eyes away.
One corner of his mouth ticked up infinitesimally. “Me.”
