He hadn’t grown up surrounded by the golden columns, the jade green accents running along the ceiling and floor, and the paintings of the former monarchs of country, but he had grown to love the palace as it were his own in the past seven years of becoming acquainted with the sound of his shoes clicking on the tiles and the peace he felt when he stepped out into the public's eye when announcing something that would help the country. He had grown to adore the palace and the country as though it was his from the very beginning.
Of course, in due time it was supposed to be his own.
Instead, because of a goddamn, old, archaic law, he wanted to throw himself down the stairs, knock himself out or maybe even get amnesia just so he could forget about the whole…marry Catriona bit of the business on the way to becoming King of Tyrrendor.
