Summary
A collection of one-shots and drabbles for my D&D Character: Balfas. A (suspiciously) young gnoll with a rough past. He's a career assassin who recently bought into a business with two strange older men, and somewhere along the way between trying to keep the books in the green and, of course, fight a stupid lich thing, becomes a reluctant teen dad.
Updates irregulary. I'm just posting it to get it out of my brain in the hopes that someone else might enjoy it too.
This whole world is a bunch of half-cocked last minute "oh you know what would be cool" decisions. Ask any questions you have, I'd LOVE to answer.

Seeing Victor’s face haloed by the blinding bright shine of the catastrophic meltdown makes the destruction feel almost beautiful.
Cardia drinks it all in. Her chest feels so warm being held like this, a gentler heat than horologium’s scorching transformation. She can breathe easily now, but she feels breathless in a whole different way when she remembers the softness of Victor’s lips pressed to her own.
She’s in love with him. She already knew that, but in this moment, those words come to mind unbidden.
She’s in love with him.
And then a pane of glass shatters, startling her out of her reverie.
“We better get going.” Victor says.
“Right…”
Or, immediately following the finale of his route, Cardia and Victor make their escape.

There’s so many better things that he could be doing right now, other than laying in bed feeling like he’s been run over by a train. Like maybe watching a train! Or riding a train! Or maybe even building a train! Building a train would be way, way better than being hit by one.
It’s not faaaaiiiiir that he can’t build today! The old man totally is! Impey would bet anything that he’s hunched over the newest cannon prototype right now, tweaking and tuning it so that it’s a hundred percent ready for this weekend’s test launch. Impey’s should be helping! Or at least, he should be there and watching the old man work!
Instead, he’s achy and pukey and bored out of his mind. It’s not fair at all.
Impey, ten years old and already living alone, falls ill. The old man comes looking for him.

“It isn’t going to be effective.” Van Helsing says over his shoulder. “You all run, I’ll buy you some time.”
“Hold on, Van. You couldn’t handle this guy by yourself last time, yeah?” Impey says with a nervous laugh. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I’ll stay too. No matter how hard that armor is, chemicals should still be able to affect the person inside.” Fran says, glaring daggers as he circles the figure, still shrouded in smoke. Slowly, silently, he pulls a myriad of vials out of the holster at his thigh, all different colors— trial and error. Impey follows suit, circling the other direction.
“…Do what you want. Just don’t get in my way.” Van sighs, forcing an unbidden smile off his face. He can’t have them seeing it and getting all sentimental on him, they’re too attached as-is.
Besides, Impey won’t ever let him live it down if he realizes that their decision to stay brought Van Helsing a small sense of relief, and that would be a fate worse than death.
