What she doesn't realize is that the bar is primarily a monster bar, and that's when she meets Sans. After that, her life is thrown for a loop as she befriends a large cast of different skeletons, and inevitably ends up moving in with them.

You were only 13 when you fell into the Underground.
Found by Toriel, you didn't hesitate to go with her. You lived with the goat monster who had taken you in and, though you knew that there was more to be explored, you never wished to leave. You lived together for 8 years without any issue. Everything was perfect. You finally found a place that you called home.
Then someone else fell down - Frisk.
Once they fell, you watched as the world around you became a game. It started with the odd sense of deja vu. Once you watched the child murder Toriel in cold blood only for the loving monster to reappear with no recollection of the incident, you knew something was wrong.
You began to lock yourself in your room whenever everything restarted and, once the child left, you would reappear to discover what had happened in your absence. After this constant pattern, Frisk had forgotten your existence in the flood of resets and timelines.
That was fine with you.
However, everything changed once again when you were the one to answer the knocking on the old ruin doors.

Sans, on the other hand, is missing his brother badly. Papyrus is away at school, leaving Sans alone and miserable. When he stops showing up to group gatherings despite his promise to Papyrus to always go, Red finds himself surprisingly concerned. Sans won’t respond to any of Red’s attempts at contacting him, so in frustration Red decides to go confront him. When he does, he finds out the dangerous secret Sans has been keeping and realizes it’s up to him to help.

Four sisters were entered into this program by their mother before she passes from unfortunate circumstances. Toriel, Queen of the monsters, feels a deep love for the words entered by the mother and moves to have the four sisters host a band of skeletons in a large mansion. She hopes that with one close family of sisters can warm the hearts of these skeletal brothers into trusting humanity just a bit more.

Now the group is forced watching Sans' most important memories to the end but maybe it could be fate. Sans has been secretive far too long or are somethings better left forgotten.
