Summary
DI Simon Riley is transferred to Banff - a small, coastal town in Scotland, located on the beautiful North Sea. Only problem is the assigned loudmouth of a Sergeant, John MacTavish, and the fact that his first murder victim is a funeral director, found in a coffin in his own funeral home.
Riley hates both, loudmouths and coffins. Sheperd, his former boss in Manchester, has a lot of explaining to do. Why this town? And why this case?

Summary
"Close now. Remember the rules?" Ghost talks loud to be heard, but his voice rumbles low and deeper through him than the engines and their repetitive noise, an edge there that Soap can’t put his finger on, reminiscent of how he sounds when Price tightens their leash.
"There are no rules," he echoes their earlier conversation, but relents as Ghost narrows his eyes. "Forty-eight hours. I'm late, I fail. I'm caught, I fail. I die to some random animal attack or 'cause I break my ankle, I fail and ye won't come find me. That about it?"
Soap has some things to work out. Ghost is happy to help.

Summary
sacrifice fly (noun, baseball): a strategic play in which batter hits a fly ball to the outfield that, if caught by a fielder, allows a teammate to score, but the batter is out.
–
When Soap joins the San Francisco Seals, he’s determined to be the best catcher that Major League Baseball has ever seen. Maybe he’ll even get a chance to play with The Ghost, a pitcher as famous for his deadly accuracy as he is for his mysterious reputation.
Ghost is methodically devoted to baseball, the only thing that’s kept him afloat for as long as he can remember. He never expected the new guy’s sharp eyes to extend off of the field and into his life, or for someone so annoying to be so damn good.

Summary
Ghost, under threat of another psychological evaluation from both his CO and therapist, has been forced to partake in a penpal programme with another soldier in order to "practise empathy" and "re-establish human connection." He hates it until he doesn't.
MacTavish willingly volunteers for the SAS's new penpal programme because what the hell, it could be fun. And when his penpal ends up being adorably emotionally constipated, well, that certainly doesn't hurt.

Summary
What becomes of life when everything you know is upended?
But what if everything you know is hardly worth clinging onto?
John MacTavish inherits a farmhouse in a dead-end village out of the city and returns to it out of obligation more than hope. Quiet, rundown, and half-forgotten, it seems like the right place to disappear into while he 'grieves,' away from prying eyes and pitying shoulder-claps. But he’s seen something he shouldn’t have. And someone’s been sent to fix it.
The Ghost is a man who does what he’s told. Efficient, careful, and long past believing in anything else, he’s not meant to think twice. So it rattles him, when the job goes south.
It doesn't take long to find that it's easy to run, when you never loved what you're leaving behind. And easier still, when you've got someone to run with.

Summary
‘Ah’ve heard of you,’ he says. There is a smile in his voice, though it hasn’t quite reached his lips.
Simon tilts his head slightly. ‘’S that so?’
‘The Ghost,’ he says, voice hushed dramatically, and there it is, the smile, a coy thing spreading slow as he takes a sip of his drink. ‘Everyone and their ma had a story about you, so they did. The boogey-man o’ the Western Front.’ He eyes Simon some more over the rim of his glass, from his mask down and back again, as if he’s not sure what he’s seeing is real. ‘Half thought you were just a tall tale.’
Simon huffs softly through his nose. ‘I am.’
The sergeant gives him another once over. ‘Aye, ye are...’

A Peaky Blinders inspired AU in which petty crime lord Ghost adds to his growing list of problems when he claps eyes on a blow-in with the deadliest fists and the saddest baby blues you'll ever see.

Summary
Ghost is motionless, staring down at John's outstretched hand like he's trying to recall on which page of How to Behave Like a Real Human in Polite Society he’s previously seen the gesture.
Before things can get awkward, John turns the aborted handshake into a jovial, manly sort of punch to Ghost’s shoulder. It's rather like how he imagines it would be to hit an adult moose, both in the physical sensation and in the frisson of anticipated danger it elicits. Gamely, he says, “Truck’s just about set, sir. Glad to be working with you.”
Ghost’s eyes flick up to John’s face, and then higher, to his hair. He frowns.

“Yield.”
He bares his teeth, presses back against the firm body above him and bucks, furious and not particularly sure as to why.
The arm around his throat tightens as Ghost presses further against him, nearly crushing him with his weight. He’s trying to wear him down, trying to get him to collapse, but Soap has held heavier, has pushed through worse.
The spar isn’t over until he says it is.

Summary
Price was the kind of CO men would follow into fire. Soap had looked up to him for years. Still did. But since the locker room…
It had lodged in his brain like shrapnel.
“Didn’t peg you for the type to go for him.”
In one sentence, Price had revealed something, an assumption, a consideration. That he’d thought about it. About him. About who Soap might be looking at.

“Ghost?”
“Soap.” Ghost’s voice was a low buzz, gravelly with static. In the absolute silence of the snow-covered forest, it sounded both deafeningly loud and intimately quiet.
“What’s your favourite season?” Soap asked.

Summary
“Not old.” A scar ran down the side of Ghost’s face, perpendicular to the cut of his jawline, and it shifted as he spoke, “Younger than Price.”
“Really?” Soap’s stool scraped across the floor as he tugged it closer. Far too close for two grown, military sculpted men to be to each other but Soap had had at least two tequila shots even before he’d started on his next drinks, so it felt like nothing at all to be able to smell that Ghost was clean. No blood. No dirt. Clean, washed skin underneath his clothes and mask, “I mean, that wee glance you gave us of your mug back before the raid wasn’t much to go on.”
“Thought you might have gone rifling through my file.”
-----
Or: Ghost and Soap are the last ones left in the bar after the final MW2 mission, knees touching, and Soap can't help himself. Can't stop the little, needling shit that lives in the back of his head and cajoles him into pushing himself into Ghost's vision. 'Just a snog, sir. We don't have to tell.' Except, it's not really that easy, is it?

Summary
This isn't his knife, it's Ghost's. Molded grip, modified tanto blade, S.R. carved deep into the butt.
If he makes it out of this alive, he's going to have to beg forgiveness for somehow mixing Ghost's knives in with his own gear. Possibly he's gonna have to go to confession because this feels like one of the bad sins.
Or, a mission goes awry, and now Soap's got to deal with hostile terrain, a hit squad of cartel sicarios on his tail and Ghost's voice on his busted radio. Honestly, it's the last thing that probably fucks him up the most.

It's not that he didn't care about Soap. He cared…too much. Sat awake at night caring. Jerked off caring. Drank himself to death caring. Caring about the way he could see all of that muscled, tight body flexing through his clothes, caring about the beautiful way Soap filled out the front of his trousers, the fullness of him apparent against his thigh. Caring about how much he wanted to see those irritatingly animated lips around his cock. Put his eagerness to good fucking use.

Summary
“I said we go in quietly, and we leave quietly!” There’s no warning whenever the Lieutenant raises his voice. Soap thinks of the big cats on the discovery channel, sitting and waiting for their next kill. “What fucking part of that says throw a grenade at a hostile?”
So he shrugs. “It worked.”
What he doesn’t expect is a mean right hook that connects with his jaw. His head snaps to the side before the pain blossoms out, and he stumbles back. Ghost had a temper, but it was rare he ever lost it. Soap was reactive, a mix of chemicals just waiting for a match.
