Summary
Arthur repeals the ban on magic almost as soon as he becomes king, but things don't really change for Merlin. He knows that if Arthur ever found out about the lies, he'd never be forgiven. So he keeps his magic hidden just like he did before. Then to mark the one year anniversary of the repeal, Arthur hosts a ball. Merlin decides to disguise himself, and go to the ball as Emrys to keep an eye out for his friend. The idea is only partly motivated by jealousy.

Summary
When they're attacked by sorcerers, Merlin's forced to use his magic to protect Arthur and Gwaine. But the spell does something to him, and suddenly Merlin doesn't recognize them and won't say a word. Whatever Arthur and Gwaine may feel, they have to get Merlin back to Camelot before they lose him forever.
In the end, they had to tie Merlin to a tree so he wouldn’t run off in the middle of the night. He spat and growled, and swiped clawed hands at them. “He’ll get better,” Gwaine said when he and Arthur were seated by the fire, a little way away from Merlin, who seemed to be gently gnawing on his forearm.
Arthur stared into the fire with a clenched jaw, shadows running over his face. Gwaine had just about given up on Arthur speaking when he said, “Merlin lied to us for years.”

Merlin is very glad Arthur’s back is turned to him, because he’s quite certain he’s just made a violently affronted face. He tries to school the expression, nose still wrinkled up dual fondness and disgust as he towel dries Arthur’s shoulders and blurts, “are you offering me your dirty bath water?”
Arthur reels around and glares at him. “Well, I suppose when you put it that way it hardly sounds generous. Or sanitary.”
