Just after his eleventh birthday, Sam Winchester received a letter dropped off by an owl of all things. Dean Winchester knew two things: First, their dad would absolutely kill a wizard, even if he was family, and second, this Ilvermorny place was not far enough away from their father by any stretch of the imagination.
Harry Potter chose a very important train compartment on his first ride to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There was a small boy sitting alone in the compartment reading, and this boy had on his person three knives and a bottle of holy water. Harry Potter had found his people.
Severus Snape thought he must be extremely unlucky to be the only faculty member at the school who had a muggle landline phone at his summer residence…unlucky, but also so very thankful. Because after countless shocking, concerning, and frankly bizarre calls from one of his students’ guardians each summer, a Dean Winchester, well, Severus’s life was taking on a completely new and welcome direction.

Summary
Harry Potter has never been normal. Even before he was born, he was a child of prophecy. So no part of his life could be called normal in the slightest. When given the chance to have a 'normal' life, does he even know what that means? No, he's gone through too much to even try, and he's too tired to care. It's too bad everyone expects him to be the upstanding son and heir of the Potter family when he's never had family before in his life though.
Also, the baby is a little difficult to explain. The baby who may eventually turn into Lord Voldemort...no, nature vs. nurture and all, and Harry plans to nurture the hell out of this kid.

Summary

And why bother with jealous Ron, all that matters is to keep Harry alive?
Or: Hermione makes a plan to keep Harry alive during the Tournament, and if they discover some of Dumbledore's negligent oversights in the process...doesn't hurt to correct things, does it?

Summary
Halloween 1981 - Godric’s hollow
“Avada Kedavra”
The body of the red-haired woman collapsed when Lord Voldemort’s killing curse hit her, but she had been a smart witch. Her last moments were dedicated to her little son and the ritual she had used upon them, a mother’s protection to keep the soul safe from those who would want to harm them.
What she hadn’t known was that young Harry wasn’t the only one influenced by that ritual, she herself was affected too. And when her body hit the ground her soul was already gone, but not obliterated. As a free spirit she was flying around in her son’s room, watching the scene unfold and trying to block the killing curse aimed at Harry. If it worked or if it had been her protection she would never know, but her son lived and the Dark Lord didn’t.
Two souls found another body this night, the first one was the lousy attempt of a Horcrux by the self-proclaimed Lord Voldemort, hanging onto her son’s soul, but the second one, a whole soul, found itself pulled into the only other living creature in the Potter family home.
