Summary
The kidnapper watches the small screen next to the TV with an increasingly incredulous expression as the larger man slowly starts to scootch the chair he is tied to, inch by inch, to get closer to their second captive, unconscious in his own chair.
His hand keeps moving from the bowl of popcorn to his mouth mechanically while he continues to watch the men, more interested in what is happening on the smaller screen than in the movie scene that is happening on the larger one.
When the brown haired man starts to move his head, while the blond one obviously tries to get his attention, the kidnapper decides this has gone on long enough and rises from the scraggly couch, tucking his gun inside his waistband as he exits his room on his way to the prisoners.

When Peg slowly tips her head back down, there is something about the tentative lift of her brow that makes Hawk hold his breath. "Hawk, I'm going to ask something of you that's incredibly selfish."
Hawkeye leans closer as he drops his voice. "Name it."
Her cheeks are flushed again. Her lips part. Whatever is going through her mind seems to be difficult for her to put into words, and goddamn, Hawk knows he's plenty selfish enough already, but he still can't help but hope that they're on similar pages, that her desires have everything to do with...with them. Taking a chance. It's petrifying to imagine—if they're not compatible, what happens to Hawkeye and BJ? What happens to BJ and Peg? But it's even more uncomfortable to think of a world where Hawkeye buries his desire to be close to her any deeper than he already has.
He's contemplating so intensely that when she does speak, it takes a moment for the words to have meaning.
"I want you to come to bed with me."

Summary
Every doctor on the front lines knows you're not supposed to bond with your patients. This is war, not summer camp. But Benjamin "Lucky" Waters is from Maine, and Hawkeye figures there has to be some sort of rule about Bens from Maine becoming friends. It's a natural thing, like eating bread with your spaghetti or crackerjacks at a ball game.
But Lucky dies, because that happens sometimes in war, and Hawkeye copes with the loss by writing a letter to Lucky's father back home. The only problem is he can't find the words to make things right, and no matter what he says, it just feels like he's putting Band-Aids on bullet holes.
(Or, Hawkeye learns that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.)

If there was anything that Hawkeye Pierce hated, it was being sick.
It could be rightfully debated that swimmer’s itch and wet socks would come in a close second; tied, of course, with Major Burns on what most would consider a good day. Whichever came first on the list, however, didn’t matter much to the captain as the beginning symptoms of a fall flu set in. It started mildly, pressure in the sinus leading to mild headache, sniffles, and sneezes. Most of which Hawkeye conveniently blamed on allergies, the war, or whatever slop was served at breakfast that day. For the most part, everyone shoved off the symptoms as just another part of his antics.
That is, everyone except for a certain BJ Hunnicutt.
