The subtle grief on Saejima’s stony face was breaking his heart.
Ignoring the risk, Majima reached out, pulling him into one last, desperate kiss. A crazy part of his brain told him that if he simply assaulted the guard, then he could stay another year or so, never leave this comfortable, safe space. It was a tempting offer, almost impossible to ignore with Saejima’s fingers in his hair. But he had a job to do, a goal to reach, and staying here would ruin that. With their foreheads pressed together, they whispered barely audible words of love to each other, swore that this would be the last time they’d be seperated.

The ending Kiwami deserved. Recalls the conversation from Yakuza 0 between Nishiki and Kiryu, and IMO, is much more consistent with their characters and story, as opposed to needlessly offing Nishiki to redeem him at the end.
