Summary
The sky is dense with grey, towering clouds, and a light drizzle steadily floats down from them as you stand by the side of the road, waiting. Every now and then, the wind picks up with a biting chill and drives the rain directly into your face, and every time, you huddle deeper into your coat, pull your sodden hood low with freezing fingers, and bury your cold nose in your scarf, searching the familiar mesh of damp, scratchy wool for some modicum of warmth.
On a rainy October day somewhere to the north of Finland, you have an encounter with a very honoured guest.

Or Mark struggles with his gender identity and expression in secret. Barry won’t keep his fat nose in his own business and David has to be so NICE and UNDERSTANDING all the time (which is a whole other issue for Mark…)
But as that Secret Keeper kid might say, secrets are like soda pop…keep them bottled up too long and sooner or later they’re bound to explode and make a mess.

Grif definitely isn’t going to wake Simmons up to help him calm down. He doesn’t want for him to worry. He doesn’t want for him to know.
But… what if he had a different excuse for waking him up? Something that wouldn’t expose him, or upset Simmons.
Simmons had told him once, blushing and not even remotely looking at his face, that he was fine with Grif waking him up with sex. If he wanted to. Phrased like he was idly giving Grif permission for something it had randomly occurred to him Grif might want while every line of his body radiated that this was probably a longheld, private, favorite shameful fantasy of his, desperately craved.

Simmons hadn’t made his way up to the roof, yet. These past couple of weeks had been hell on the two of them; surgery sucked enough when it wasn’t experimental piecing together done by a man with no medical training whatsoever.

Donut looks like a cross between a football quarterback and a model. He’s got thick, wavy hair, broad shoulders, a jaw like it’s been carved from marble, and a pouting mouth half-lost under a beard. If there was a girl around, she’d probably call Donut hot, like unfairly hot, like holy fuck hot.
There’s just Simmons though, who makes a startled wheezing sound, trying to remember how to breathe.
