“He’s hungry,” Vader finally voices his thoughts after the lengthy period of silence when he was simply content to watch Obi-Wan handle Luke.
Obi-Wan can’t help but stare as Vader takes off his helmet, revealing unmarred skin save for the scar, the same handsome cut of his jaw, and unruly hair. It hurts to see harsh yellow eyes staring back at him instead of the soft blues he is used to.
He averts his gaze. He almost wishes Vader would put his helmet back on; it is easier not to think of him as Anakin that way.
“Feed him,” Vader says, pulling Obi-Wan's attention back to him.

“Ahsoka…” His head turns towards her and she can see him. It isn’t much, but she cracked his mask and she can see him.
“Anakin.”
It hurts so much to see him like this, but something in her solidifies. He is in there. She can reach him. Ahsoka makes a decision. She can do this. He trained her, she knows how he fights, how he moves.
She knows how to beat him.
“I won’t leave you, not this time.” Her chest is heaving, she tries to breathe. Center herself. She will have to give this everything she has.
For a moment, he just stands there. He looks at the floor and she feels like she is looking at Anakin again. Her master. Intense, feeling too much, just like he always has.
“Then you will die.”

Summary

But breaking away from Sidious isn’t as easy as stealing a shuttle and while on the run, he comes face to face with his past, present and future. After countless rumors about a rogue imperial agent wreaking havoc all over the galaxy, Ahsoka, now under the codename Fulcrum, convinces the other rebel leaders it might be worth trying to recruit this unknown player. When she finally tracks them down, they’re in for a fight of their lives, and a shock. He has her old lightsaber and he thought she was dead, but now they have to work together to survive. The back-alley legend, the one whose name is still whispered in the underworld with a mix of awe and fear. The one the Jedi couldn’t tame, could only point in a direction and pray. The Jedi taught him graceful lightsaber forms, but Watto’s yard taught him how to win a fight, when you’ve only got a rusted blade and a broken hand. You think Anakin doesn’t know how to grab someone by the jaw and bite? Please. He fights like he needs to win. Because he does NEED to.

Obi-Wan smiles wider.
“I figured he could handle it.”
Mr. Skywalker bends forward with a fist wedged against his thigh, conspiring like. His tight jeans whine when he does so.
“How many shelves do you think he climbed to get them?”
A sigh. Mr. Skywalker knows his son well.
“At least two. Apparently there was a witness.”
“Hey! You weren’t supposed to tell him.”
Stormy eyes meet Obi-Wan’s for a split second. An entire, exasperated conversation passes between them with that one look. Obi-Wan realizes the significance, the electricity almost in real time. It takes his breath away, recognizing the silent conversation they just had for what it actually is. Obi-Wan clears his throat into his fist and tries to lurch away, to flee the intense stare still boring into him. But he’s rooted to the spot in the bubble of Mr. Skywalker’s cologne. It smells woodsy and musky. Like a man would smell, Obi-Wan reckons.
