Stan grins, all soft and satisfied, and Ford can’t look away. This is as much of a gift as the spa trip. Ford stares for as long as he dares, soaking in the joy and glimmering eyes of his brother.
“You know what, gimme those too.” Stan grabs Ford’s glasses and slides them off his face quickly. Ford makes a noise of protest as the glorious sight of his twin gets muddled by his bad vision. He can see enough to know that Stan popped his glass onto his own face, beaming with a bright grin.
“Really?”
“What, you gonna them wear in the tank?” Stan elbows him and nods towards the counter where his attendant is waiting for him to finish signing the paperwork with a bored expression.

Ford didn't mean to trip inside of Stan's fantasy bubble, the fantasies he's kept hidden in the mindscape. All of his voyeurs, his travels, his notes; all of it was for research! Only because Stan is too stubborn to open up to him, despite their reconciliation!
He doesn't mind that the sexual fantasies, the one kept at the very back of halls, consisted of him. Of Ford Pines. And it seems that the mindscape doesn't mind Ford's intrusion, allowing the fantasy to play as if nothing happened. So if Ford were to play along as well... it's not so bad, is it?
After all, he isn't Ford Pines, Stanley's brother. He's now Ford the scientist. The Ford in Stan's fantasy. The Ford Stanley wants him to be.

Summary
For a reason he couldn't explain, Stan opened the journal, flipping to the page where Ford had once written about that same moth—Furcula scolopendrina….some nonsense about its lifecycle, how it only came out in summer, how he'd never managed to find one to pin. Here, in the dead of winter, the irony bit deep. Stan tossed the book aside and looked down at the moth, muttering, “Ford would've lost his mind if he saw you. Would’ve been halfway to gettin' you framed already.”
The damn thing didn’t answer, of course.
Stupid as it was, he scooped it up, its soft, fragile body nearly disappearing in his palm. He wasn’t gonna pin it for Ford or anything—Ford wasn’t even here, and Stan had more important crap to do. But still, he couldn’t leave it alone out here, where the wind would just carry it away like nothing.
It was completely and utterly ridiculous.
He did it anyway.
