“And now for the boys.” It is unlikely for him to be reaped a second time. Tommy knows that if he was picked again, no one would save him this time– Techno was too old to take that burden again– but It’s unlikely for his name to be pulled; he’ll remind himself over and over even as the ringing of voices repeats in his head: Thomas Craft. Thomas Craft. Thomas Craft.
When he was first reaped, Tommy barely acknowledged his own name, long out of use. He could remember the shouts of his brother as he began walking toward the stage– ‘Theseus! No, Tommy!’ he tried to run toward his younger brother as peacekeepers held him back.
Phil had sat quietly, mouth agape– ‘I volunteer, I volunteer as tribute!’ Tommy had cried out as his brother spoke, trying to hold onto him. Still, his name echoed as he was dragged away from his brother. The name that caused Techno to volunteer. The name that felt like a dagger in his heart when he heard it. Thomas Craft. Thomas Craft. Thomas Craft.
The name sour in his mind. A reminder of the boy who was reaped.

“Just to find out you were running around playing- playing fucking hero?” Wilbur’s voice is hoarse. Tommy knows he doesn’t mean it, Wilbur would get like this when he was angry. Usually, the anger wasn’t directed at Tommy.
“I wasn’t-“ Tommy finally speaks, anger rising in his own voice.
“Then what were you doing, Tommy?!” The brunette yells— the younger flinches backward. His fight or flight senses kicking in as he attempts to use his powers again. “We looked for you everyday!”
“Wilbur!” Phil finally interferes, noticing Tommy’s distress.
“Did you look for me?!--“ He yelled, voice cracking. The police and nurses outside the room stop at the volume, looking in through the window. He takes a deep shuddering breath, lowering his voice. “Or did the Syndicate look for me?”
//OR When finally caught after two years of vigilantism, Tommy must choose between the consequences of his actions or facing his past.

“Squawk…! Walnut! Squawk…! Give?” The parrot squeaks. Phil nearly jumps backward, but laughs slightly. Looking down at his hand, his eyes land on the golden walnut. He offers it to the bird happily.
As the bird takes the golden treat, Techno speaks up. “Phil, look.”
The blond looks back to Techno, then to the boy. He had turned around, staring directly at Phil. He looks at him with curious eyes-- suddenly, the boy squawks.
OR // Phil and Techno have been living in the Valley for nearly two years now, after the passing of an old friend caused them to inherit her farm. They find themselves on a hopeless search for something Kristin had left behind, until they are allowed passage onto the abandoned, Ginger Island— The two farmers end up finding more than exotic fruits and new dungeons to explore. “Well- well, fuck you too!” He hissed into the empty nest, eyes burning with tears. Tommy felt as if the world was collapsing around him– though, it was most likely just his instincts to blame. “ ‘m a big man, I can survive on my own.”
Tommy stumbled to his feet, the unusual weight of his wings nearly causing him to fall. He was tired, deep in his instincts, and hungry, but his flock was missing. That meant he had to fend for himself.
Hasily, he remembers watching cowboy movies in the morning with Wilbur before school. The cowboys were rejected from society, just like Tommy now. They fend for themselves, and they were happy to be alone– without a flock. Tommy could be like them, just as strong.
“Mhm,” He nodded to himself, slurring his speech. “I’m a lone bird now.”
// Or when Tommy wakes up in the nest, deep in his instincts, he begins to notice the lack of his flock. Feeling alone and forgotten, Tommy begins on a hunt for his family. Though, as time carries on– The newly winged boy begins to wonder if his flock had abandoned him.

Summary
Phil and Techno are fighting a war that is not their own. Their kingdom being drafted as allies, they find themselves on the battlefield. The greatest warriors. Influenced by the thought of their family, Kristin and Wilbur at home; the warriors put their all into the battle.
On the— hopefully— last battle, Phil is given a vision from the gods of his future. It tells of an avenger that will take revenge from Phil in the future. Phil is willing to do anything to save his own life, and see his family again; even if that means kill.
That is until he finds out who his opponent is. An infant. The son of Emperor Sam, who he had killed minutes before.
