After thwarting the GIW's second attempt to destroy the Infinite Realms Danny, Danielle, Jazz, Sam, and Tucker have ended up in Gotham after the GIW's machines exploded. They don't have IDs, money, or anyplace to stay, and after getting badly injured in the fight Danny's ice core has put him in a semi cryogenic stasis, leaving the rest of Team Phantom to fend for themselves while taking care of him. After two months of theft, avoiding the authorities, and sometimes doing a little vigilantism of their own, Team Phantom pissed off the wrong group of criminals by stealing a vial of Lazarus water. Team Batman is called to rescue them, as well as finally figure out what this new group of rogues is doing in Gotham, and how to get them back home.

Now Danny just has to overcome Batman's paranoia and show him that he's more than a sassy, overpowered entity, fight off Wonder Woman's worry, and deal with Superman's cowardice. Luckily Flash is pretty cool, even if he can't keep a secret.
What's that, oh now there are ghost attacks... Great, guess it's his problem now. And here comes his unresolved trauma knocking on the door along with his hero complex and a boatload of guilt. Sure, being Ghost King is a lot, along with being a superhero, but surely things will work themselves out. Well, at least he wasn't until the Lazarus pits spit out a baby boy who looks remarkably a lot like he does, an ancient ghost who tells him that this baby is now his son and to keep him safe. Oh! And did he forget that the baby is the future Ghost King and has some type of Eldritch powers and he finds out that he was something called a Revenant?
Of course, he decided to lay low for a bit and not tell anyone he now had a kid whilst he sets the boy up with some papers, because how was he supposed to say that the baby was birthed by pit water? And oh look, Bruce and the rest of the Batfamily want to meet the new member of their family! Perfect. This wasn't how he expected his day to go when he woke up.
