Thanks to his connection to the (literally) otherworldly Spirit, Senpai has come to know that a lot of things about his world are not as he thought them. His world is a simulacrum of the ‘real world’, a facsimile of a nonexistent high school and its related romance. He is of interest there (of course he is!), but still remains only a pawn. However, it's his world, and despite what Spirit wants, Senpai knows that at least there, he belongs.
So when he wakes up in an unfamiliar room, surrounded by an unfamiliar existence, Senpai knows that Spirit had just ruined their chances of anything resembling normalcy. So he must now adjust to his new position in this world and try to figure out how to get back home. However, in this place, he is not a love interest, but a protagonist. And as a connoisseur of strange worlds, Senpai knows right away that there is something not quite right about this one...
After all, Senpai was never big on literature.
