Balinor blinked, “I’m sorry, I think I misheard you.”
Arthur fought to slow down his speech. “I am proposing we reinforce our alliance with my marriage to Prince Merlin.”
Balinor stares at Arthur and the blonde feels anxiety bubbling beneath his skin in the silence.
Balinor finally speaks, “My dear friend, I’m afraid dragonfolk and human mating traditions are quite disparate. Merlin’s hand is not mine to give to you even if I wanted to. We have very specific courting rituals to be observed in which Merlin will choose his own mate.”
