Aziraphale is a professional quest hero who just wants to sit by the fire and read a book, if his overbearing family will ever let him; Crowley is a serpent demon who needs a gullible hero he can con into gathering some critical ingredients for a human corporation spell. Hijinks and a lot of terribly inconvenient feelings ensue.

It came again, the vile, foul creature. It snuck in his bed in the dead of the night, when he was completely alone and helpless.
Aziraphale had carefully picked out his best nightgown, the one with ruffles on the chest and lace on the bottom. He’d briefly said his goodbyes to it, in case the devil decided to rip it to shreds.
He’d whispered his prayers, stiff knees on the hard stone floor, begging for his soul to be saved. And then, he’d carefully brushed his hair and lain in bed, heart thumping in his chest.

Her smell engulfs her. Has the angel slept in this bed, in this very same sheets? Or maybe – is this the room where she puts on her perfume? Crowley can imagine it, clear as day – the angel tilting her neck to the side, dabbing some perfume on the tips of her fingers and then pressing them to the pulse point beneath her jaw, on smooth, soft skin that looks like it'd taste of cream. The fantasy alone makes the demon’s breath hitch in her throat.
She shouldn’t be doing this. She’s going to do it anyway, because she can’t help herself. She’ll clean everything up when she’s done and the angel will be none the wiser.
💜Crowley wakes up alone in Aziraphale's bedroom after a night spent drinking together, and just can't help herself.
