Instead, finding companionship in the creatures that were located on her current residence. But as quickly as they were acquainted, they had fled like an unkindness of ravens from the unholy screech of the howler monkey freighted by dinosaur which was actually a mossy log in the dead of night under the northern sky. "

"I don't think you understand," Merlin said as he started walking backwards, brows wrinkled in confusion. "I can rip your throat out with my teeth and drink your blood. Does that not bother you?" He asked. Arthur finally glanced up from the papers in his hand to look at him, pausing his steps altogether. Merlin waited.
"...Merlin, you fell over trying to put boots on." He said. Merlin grimaced, looking down at his feet.
"I hadn't realized you were supposed to wear them all the time." He muttered, uncertain what this had to do with the fact he could murder everyone within a ten mile radius. Arthur sighed. "And those are bold words from someone who can't dress himself!" He added indignantly. Another sigh. Humans did that a lot as it turned out.
"Merlin, that's your job."
"And I've taught you several times. It isn't that hard."
"No, I - " Arthur started and closed his eyes. "I don't have time for this."

After living with demons for sixteen years, Merlin decides to explore his human side by venturing to Camelot. Also, he has a destiny to unite his species and bring magic back into Camelot, but he's not too worried about that.

"Wha-? Merlin, I see the body," he hissed, looking over his shoulder. "Don't act like standing in front of it is... You... You're just going to roll him over? What does that do?" he asked, voice growing more agitated by the moment.
"He's sleeping," Merlin explained. Leon made what could have been a squeal of agony or scream of frustration. Possibly both rolled into one.

Sometimes Gavin bounces between different phases in redemption, and he'd seem really nice before going back completely. But I guess redemption isn't linear.
Wish it ended with a stronger line.

'Shane?’ Ryan said, his voice an octave higher than he would have liked. Shane visibly tensed. ‘You took this honesty thing really seriously, didn’t you?’
Shane nodded quickly before relenting and uttering a small, ‘yes.’
‘Shane,’ Ryan tried again and met his friends eyes. ‘Do you have to be honest for the next hour?’
The short nod and affirmation had Ryan feeling nauseous.
