Satoru is a weak man. Suguru speaking in that needy tone almost made his insides burst into absurd flames. So much so that he desperately wanted to have a child with Suguru every time he used that underhanded move. His brain abandoned coherent thoughts whenever Suguru did that.

Even the smallest difference can cause pivotal divergence in fates—even one short sentence. Months after the Star Plasma Vessel’s death, Suguru’s real thoughts slipped his lips, and that knocked over the first domino. His confession sent Satoru spiraling and led him to the realization that his best friend was struggling with something beyond his comprehension. Can Satoru really change their fate when Suguru is so stubborn?

It obviously wasn't meant to be, if that ended up being the case.
