Summary
Shen Yuan transmigrates, into a world he is told is based on Proud Immortal Demon Way, the crappy Xianxia stallion novel he'd been reading before his death.
The keywords there were 'based on,' which he missed completely, when he decided to hide in a cave for 300 years and cultivate. After all, he's got no interest in being killed by the protagonist. Better to just wait for him to die out or ascend, and come out after the fact.
Except, when the System dumps him out into the world, he learns two horrifying truths: the first, the protagonist is very much alive, and is, in fact, a teenager still.
The second?
The world he's in isn't Xianxia at all. It's a Wuxia world.(Very loosely based on the premise of 'Finding out it's a Wuxia world after cultivating for 300 years,' a web novel I thought sounded cool but never actually read, and thus is not really that relevant for anything but core premise.)

In a superficial sense, those who are born into an enviable environment with elite naturalistic ability, as well as having a strong enough will to tempt fate, could easily be seen as inhuman. It isn't hard to see why; if you were a normal person, and you found yourself confronted with an individual of such a stark superiority, you might mistake them for a different animal entirely. There's a distance segregating monsters like that from regular people.
And in reality, monsters who exemplify that dysphoria, in both their nature and nurture, utterly dominate society. That sort of difference is difficult for most people to accept, but.. in a world like that, could a fantasy like equality seriously be considered by anyone?

After arriving in this new world I quickly found my people, like-minded roleplayers such as myself that wanted to larp as a mysterious organisation in the shadows. Honestly they can be a bit intense about their roleplay, but the amount of work they are putting into this is impressive. If I didn’t know any better I’d believe this organisation really does exist and lurks in the shadows of society. To me though it provides the perfect stage for my Eminence in Shadow plans along with a group of friends that are willing to play along.
