"A girl?" Dean prods, digging fingers into wounds Sam’s still visibly nursing. Knowing he's hit a pressure point, Dean latches on, unceasing: "Was there a girl?"
For a moment, Sam imagines the truth. The sweet, fleeting satisfaction of bursting that bubble. Imagines if he told his brother: No. There was a boy.

It should bother him. Harry knew that. But he couldn’t bring himself to care about the nuances of whatever he was expected to do. He knew now what he was to everyone.
Dumbledore didn’t view him as a person, just a tool. Voldemort too.
And he can play that part. For the good.
Harry was used to playing a role.A story surrounding Harry's feelings of dehumanization over being a human weapon and finding a tiny bit of comfort through a game and detentions with his least favourite teacher. Follows the HBP story, but more of an introspection and a focus on the volatile relationship between Snape & Harry.

“How long have you been here?” She asks eventually.
“I don’t think he knew, right?” Roman ignores the question and it makes her feel as if she is intruding on a missed conversation coming to its natural conclusion. “Like—he didn’t fucking know. No.”
“Uhm—Rome?” She reaches for him; it’s all she can ever do. “What do you mean?”
“He didn’t,” he says as if it were decided.
“Roman,” Shiv whispers, downright scared.
But her brother just lightly shakes his head, his breath sounding off. Shaky. Broken. Something broke a long time ago and nobody remembers who tipped the glass. Shiv can’t remember.
Over the span of several years after the Waystar sale, the Roy siblings keep crossing paths. May it be birthdays, a memorial or other events, life finds a way to force them into each other's orbit. All of them try to live with the decisions they've made and have to face the final, hauntig question of whether their father can ever truly leave.
