“No,” Emrys says again, this time to Arthur’s face.(Splintered Merlin AU. In a fit of terror, Arthur kills Merlin and regrets everything immediately. Two years later, he gets a chance to make things right when a man calling himself Emrys wanders back into his closest circle. Arthur thinks that he can make Merlin come back to him if only he treats this Emrys the way he should have treated Merlin. Emrys, meanwhile, isn't interested in alleviating Arthur's guilt. He wants to play out his own fairytale; the problem is that there's a dragon in the way.)

Summary
Jason of House Todd is a lord's bastard, shamed for the circumstances of his birth and what lies between his legs. The Gray Son of Gotham is a warlord, unceasing as a river's course, cutting a path across the continent with fury, flame, and the army at his back.
The Gray Son's ire is fixed upon Jason's home, ready to burn all he holds dear. Lord Willis's knows that if he offers Jason as a lamb in silks - whore or wife - the favour of the Gray Son may be won. The cost to Jason's life and soul is of little consequence.
The Gray Son’s eyebrow quirked, and his lips set with amusement. In the silence between them, Jason could not help but notice how handsome he was, like one of the southern wines which aged to perfection. Everything about him was intentional, the short, uneven crop of his hair, the carefully maintained beard. Gods above, he even smelled pleasant, leather and beeswax mingling with a rich musk.
The Lord stepped back, Jason nearly collapsing from relief. Whatever the Gray Son was testing him for, he had passed.
“I accept this gift,” the Gray Son said, unexpectedly. “Bathe him, and find some better clothes. Then bring him to my quarters.”
