“I fucked up,” Kris whispers hoarsely. “Noelle, I’m sorry, I-” A choking sob wracks their vocal cords, and she's standing up before she can even remotely consider a plan.
“Kris, where are you?”
“Home,” they mumble through labored breaths. “Please hurry. I’m sorry- I didn’t know who else to-”
“I’m on my way.”

It's been a week since Kris had a mental breakdown and wound up in the hospital, half a week since Kris decided to no longer work with Carol, a few days since Kris, Susie, and Noelle all got together and the former of the two had to explain what Dark Worlds are to Noelle, and one day since they brought Noelle to Castle Town. But the question must be posited. What now?

Summary
Kris didn't know what to expect when they started college with their childhood best friend Noelle. They had spent their entire childhood after getting adopted in the same Monster-only town, with Noelle as their only friend their own age(sure, they were friendly with the other kids their age, that's what happens when you go to the same school since kindergarten, but Noelle is the only person they've ever considered a friend), and the only other people they could consider friends being their own and Noelle's older siblings.
But they did NOT expect to suddenly be thrust into a world of bigotry, chaos, a curriculum that actually challenges them, and, more than all of that...
Meeting people who they connect with not because their parents were friends, but because they truly connect to each other on a deeper level.
And while they drift away from Noelle and finally start to make friends on their own...
They also find themself crushing on a certain bluebird Noelle becomes study buddies with.
