"Any day except for Tuesday." Robin says, her voice suave and smooth and not at all the nervous, bumbling thing that started the call. "I look forward to it, Princess."

A girl appears beside her, and she looks just as timid as Nancy feels — because Nancy's face is always a perfectly controlled thing, even at five years old.

Nancy smiles, kind. Even this close to Robin, Nancy looks at her like there’s nothing wrong with her, with the way she is. All of Robin’s incompetence and how uncontrollable she feels sometimes, Nancy sees all of it. And Nancy, perfect fucking Nancy Wheeler, doesn’t shy away. She wants more, more of Robin.

Her ego’s all the way up her ass, and there is only one person who’s got the courage (and a major in idiocy) to challenge her bravado.

The brunette’s drenched in naivety, and a firm believer in second chances. Even if Jade was the biggest risk she could ever possibly take, with it literally being social suicide to cross her path, or breathe too loudly, or give her a bad look, or say a word she despises, Tori Vega walks on Jade’s spikes like they’re pillows. Like she doesn’t know that her roses have thorns.
And that’s either going to kill her from the inside and out, or bring out the life that she never knew was missing.
