“So you saw the news, huh?” he said, pointing over to the TV. The news from earlier today was still playing. He saw grainy footage that people took on their phones of other people disappearing into shadows. And then he saw himself and his team and Valentina smiling and introducing them as the New Avengers. “So this really crazy thing happened, you wouldn’t believe it, Sam.”
“Nope,” interrupted Sam. “Start over.” He had still not looked up at Bucky.
“I was honestly just doing my job–”
“No.”

A month after Dean managed to rescue Cas from the Empty, Dean still hasn't managed to loosen the knot in his throat that's stopping him from addressing all the shit that Cas said. Instead, the pair are organizing the artifact storage room when Cas looks into a mirror he shouldn't have. Now, Cas is being forced to re-live his regrets as the memories dole out physical retribution while Dean scrambles to not lose his best friend after just getting him back.

Dean transferred to this school three years ago and is now a senior, and he’s been secretly ogling Castiel ever since. This distant yearning might have worked in the past years, but now it was just four months until he would graduate and leave this school forever, so he had woken up this morning and decided that fuck it, he wasn’t some 12-yearold girl; if he wanted something he would make sure he got it, even if that something was a rude hipster kid who didn't even notice his existence.
