Castiel is an idiot. Dean is also sometimes an idiot. And since there tend to be misunderstandings between idiots, it's no surprise that they would end up in a painfully awkward and unintentionally romantic situation.
His heart rose up into his throat and thumped away there, made it difficult to breathe. Never had his stomach hurt so bad, cramped up in such a painfully delightful way, in a way that made him feel as though he might pass out, all because his idiot angel had a brain the size of a goddamn pea.
God, he was going to strangle Cas one day.

Perfect, brilliant, the whole world confined in the span of his slender fingertips and the flutter of his blonde lashes. And then his perfect lips, that same shade of red that lingered against the rim of a teacup or the bottom of a wine glass, smiled that secret, subtle smile and the green haired swordsman felt himself fall just a little bit more for him.
The blond tucked his chin a fraction, a quick and barely discernible nod to accompany a softly uttered phrase, quiet as a whisper and so full of fondness. "Yeah, yeah, I love you too, Marimo. But I need to get back to baking."

Inosuke is so touch-deprived, he doesn't even know what a hug is.
Whenever it was time for Nezuko to go, Tanjirou would tug her in and wrap his arms around her, squeezing. Inosuke had seen him do it a few times now, and it never became any less strange.
So eventually, when it happened again, Inosuke jumped to his feet and wiggled his finger at Tanjirou. "Why do you always do that, Gonpachirou?"
Tanjirou looked puzzled. He turned his face to Inosuke, arms still draped over his sister's shoulders. "Do what?"
"Squeeze people!"
"You mean a hug?"

Lambert is dying after a hunt gone wrong, and confesses his love to a venom-induced hallucination of Eskel. It’s the only way he'll ever be able to tell the other Wolf how he feels, and he decides there’s no harm done since he’ll be dead soon anyway.
But Eskel isn't a hallucination, Lambert doesn't die, and now they have to talk.
It goes much better than Lambert expects.

“I did,” Connor tried to lighten the mood but his tonal subroutine didn’t kick in, leaving his voice blank, “just now. I am a machine, Lieutenant. I am not capable of feelings, or pain, or innovation, or free will. I run on input and code, and that is it.”
“Oh yeah?” Hank didn’t sound impressed, “Then why the hell are you petting my dog?”

The existence of life inside a plastic shell was news to him, or at least it would have been if Connor hadn't already, on some level, known it to be true. The introduction of a sadistic creator, along with revolution and changes to the geo-political landscape of the earth on which he was built should have been enough to contend with. Adding Lieutenant Hank Anderson on top simply set the avalanche of Connor's admittedly short existence rolling without any guarantee as to the fall out.Series
