“You’re seriously still sitting in here?” Sae asked sharply.
Rin blinked slowly before looking up at him.
“...Yeah.”
His voice sounded rough from lack of use.
Sae crossed his arms.
“Did you even eat today?”
Rin hesitated.
“A little.”
“That’s not an answer.”
Silence.
Sae sighed heavily through his nose.
“You know what? Forget it.” He kicked aside a pile of clothes near the door. “This is disgusting.”
Rin lowered his gaze immediately.
“You can’t keep living like this,” Sae continued. “Your room smells awful. You look awful. You barely shower anymore.”
Rin stayed silent.
That silence irritated Sae more than arguing would have.
“Seriously, what’s wrong with you lately?”
Nothing.
Not a word.
Sae’s frustration only grew.
“You sleep all day, don’t eat properly, don’t clean anything up, and then act like everyone else is the problem.” His voice hardened. “At some point you need to stop acting useless and grow up.”
The word useless settled deep inside Rin’s chest.
Sae noticed Rin tense slightly at the comment, but instead of concern, he felt satisfaction.

Isagi only smirked, arms crossing over his chest as his shirt pulled tight against him. He leaned back in his chair, defiance sparking in his eyes.
“No,” he drawled, voice low but steady. “I know I did it right, Professor.”

Summary
There are things Sae never says out loud. Like how some nights, he still feels hands that weren’t his. How warmth once meant vulnerability — and vulnerability meant losing something he didn’t know could be taken. He was too young to understand it then — what it meant, what it did, what it stole. But now, he feels it everywhere. In the way he avoids mirrors. In the way he stiffens when someone walks too close. In the way his skin never quite feels like it belongs to him. He remembers what it’s like to be powerless. To be used. To flinch, and pretend he didn’t. Kindness doesn’t come easy anymore. But he’s learning. Slowly. Painfully. Shidou doesn’t ask questions. He just stays — loud, steady, present — again and again, until Sae stops bracing for the worst. And maybe, in the spaces between silence and touch, Sae learns what it feels like to be safe. Maybe, even, what it means to be loved.

Sae didn't flinch when Shidou hooked a finger into his waistband, brought his lips dangerously close to the soft skin of Sae's neck, waiting for the genius to judo-flip him to the ground like he half expected him to. He'd let him, obviously, because it was Sae.
"Get off me," said Sae.
But there was no real threat behind it; he said it so calmly that Shidou didn't buy it for a second. He tugged Sae's hip toward him by his waistband, a little harder than he'd intended to. But fuck, it was getting so hard not to just grab this genius and pin him to that big fucking bed.
"You sure?" He whispered, skimming his lips over Sae's skin, tempting him with it. Teasing him with it.
Shidou felt something shift in the air between them. No, wait, he felt something shift in Sae.
And that was before he pressed his lips right into Sae's neck.

And he hates how everytime he finds someone else he tolerates they always disappear. It’s weird.
Shidou loves Sae. He loves the way Sae pushes him away sometimes when he sits too close. The way Sae always sends a bunch of ‘???’ whenever he gets a new number to text him (he loves seeing this Side of Sae. It’s cute)!
