Summary
Dabi lives a secluded but peaceful life in his family's summer house in a small town in the middle of nowhere. The area is surrounded by old woods and towering cliffs, perfect for wandering and full of scenery to depict in his sketchbooks.
Then one day on a walk deep in the woods, he meets Shigaraki Tomura. And his secluded life becomes a bit more eventful.

Then, he learned it was supposed to make him fall madly in love with whoever he saw first, for a whole week, and he panicked more. Then, Dabi stepped into his view and burnt the motherfucker to a crisp, and Tomura's panic shot through the roof.
But then, nothing had happened.
Probably because Tomura was already in love with him.

“So,” Dabi starts, mimicking Tenko’s words. “I don’t think you’re a whiner at all.”
Tenko feels slightly relieved at that.
“I think it’s natural for humans to wish to be more fortunate than what they are right now,” Dabi explains. “So there’s no shame when you feel this way.”
Tenko senses that Dabi has more to say, though. “…But?”
Dabi smiles, oddly approving. “No ‘but’s. Just an ‘if,’ albeit a hypothetical one.”
“Aren’t all ‘if’s hypothetical?”
The room darkens a little bit. "Not always," the TV sounds a little quieter now. "Not if you don't want it to,"
An uneasy feeling twists in Tenko's belly.
Aspiring manga artist and university student Tenko Shimura vents a little about the current challenges with his life to Dabi, his strange but attentive roommate who's always so enthusiastic - albeit bordering on the side of too much - when offering help. A choice.
Come to think of it, Tenko doesn't really know anything about Dabi, does he?

In all his 10 years or so of villainy, Tomura has been used to getting chased, kicked, punched, shot, and stabbed by all heroes alike. That’s just how it is, your typical villain-hero encounter. But never has he met a hero who chased him down in a dark dingy alleyway not to hurt or capture or kill him, but to talk – talk! as if heroes and villains aren’t water and sodium, dangerously reactive when put together; as if they weren’t merely strangers but allies, friends, all because he bears a semblance to some kid from a past long-gone from here.
“Tenko. Your name is Tenko. I’m sorry if I took so long, but now I’m here.”
Until Polaris, that is.

They’ve been coexisting in the empty art room much the same for about fifteen minutes now. Touya had entered the studio expecting to find it empty, to have time to stretch and strip without an audience before his appointment with the new student Giran pointed his way. The waifish figure sitting quietly, expectantly, near the center of the room ten minutes before schedule had surprised him.
More so when the freak only answered in grunts and nods.
He looked unimpressed then and not much has changed now, but Touya wishes he could catch a glimpse of his lower face, maybe see a blush on his cheeks or just a sliver of more than his dark shaggy hair and piercing red eyes visible above the easel he hides behind.
This gig is just as much about the kid's grade as it is stroking his own ego, after all.
