V and Judy have fled the polluted, crime-ridden street of Night City, seeking a new life together. V's future is bleak, however. She's facing a literal death sentence with only six months to live. Judy refuses to accept this, insisting they chase down every lead they can find in a desperate bid to find a cure. But as they embark upon their journey, they will not only face the realities of life and death, but will be forced to confront the question that haunts them both: how strong can a promise be?

But when a business opportunity draws Judy back to Night City with her wife Bianca by her side, she will learn that no matter how distant the past may seem, one weekend can change everything.

It’s the summer of 2062 and twelve year-old Judy Alvarez doesn’t have a care in the world. But when a new girl arrives in the sleepy town of Laguna Bend, Judy’s life is turned upside down. As her friends grow distant and new feelings start to emerge, Judy will learn just how painful - and how wonderful - growing up can be.
This is a canon-divergent AU that offers both a pseudo-retelling of the events of Cyberpunk 2077 and a coming-of-age story, told from the perspective of twelve year-old Judy Alvarez. Jackie’s the local misfit, Maiko’s the school bully…you get the idea.

Summary

In the arid desert outside Night City, Judy and V are trying to make a new life for themselves as V's condition steadily deteriorates. Chasing down every lead they can find, they must eventually decide how far to go as they find themselves questioning what purpose can be found in both life and death. Time will become both their greatest ally and their greatest enemy as they rage against the inevitable fate that awaits us all.
