He would try to press the button, lock him in, and send Verity back into the dark void from which he’d spilled.Because why would he ever build a door that led away from the only person who had ever truly looked at him?

Panic rising in his chest, Mob lifted his hands to press against the glass, but froze. His skin was no longer human. It was a deep, obsidian black, shifting with the dark, mesmerizing tones of an Enderman.
Trembling, Mob raised a hand to his face. His fingers brushed against fabric, a hood that draped low, obscuring the corners of his mouth.
