“The power’s out,” Ignis says grimly. Noct can finally see him thanks to the weak light of the phone screen. He’s still in his pajamas, peering out the small gap he’s making between the curtains and the glass with a dagger. “The entire outpost is dark from what I can tell.”
If the lights are out, then there is nothing to keep the daemons at bay. And Gladio walked out there alone.

Hornet woke in the Black Egg Temple to the sight of her sibling's fractured mask. For the walk from the temple's central chamber to its exit, she thought herself truly alone in the world once more.
When Hollow followed her out, she realized that wasn't so. But now she has to try and take care of her older sibling as they recuperate and learn to live in a world where they do not have to be pure, figure out what to do about what Little Ghost left of a body, and try to piece together two kingdoms which fell long ago.
Life keeps throwing her surprises, too, which does not help.

Tonight at camp, the conversation is casual. Fresh fish makes up the food, and good company makes up the rest. It's not the first time Noct's thought it, but he's starting to really understand that the simple things in life can also be the most essential.
On this haven, alongside his brothers, Noct is at peace. When he steps off into the wilds, he'll go back to being the most wanted man in Eos. Half the world wants him dead, and that doesn't include the daemons or the beasts.
After Insomnia fell, all Noct had left were the three men sworn to protect him and fight at his side. Despite everything, it's never occurred to them to leave.
