Summary
In a unusual turn of events for Kiyoko, she was experiencing a crisis of faith. Actually no, not quite. Surely "crisis of faith" implied a faith that was being lost. Rather, she was currently in the iron grip of new-found conviction, the kind of conviction she hadn't felt in her entire life. It had lived in the house with her for seven days, sitting at her table, watching her hang the laundry, accompanying her to the bath. It seemed to her that her entire life had secretly been in service to its formation.
It was no use—she was barely sleeping. Her left hand throbbed.
She was going to have to tell Ryuunosuke.
On New Year's Eve, Kiyoko attends a girls' night out, and has a revelation.

"Why'd you call for a timeout?" Fang asked, arriving at the pitcher's mound. They were up 4-1. There was only the runner on first to worry about.
Vanille had her glove up to cover her mouth. "That's their cleanup batter," she said. "She gotta be feeling the pressure right now."
Fang glanced back over her shoulder, towards the big beefy lady waiting at home plate. She covered her own mouth and turned back to Vanille. "So you just wanna make her sweat?"
"Mmhmm!"Fang and Vanille play college baseball. Life is never dull.

Summary
His own outfit was more on the preppy side, jeans and a collar poking out of a fashionable sweatshirt. It had English writing on the front that Kamasaki didn't understand. Kenji could tell he didn't because his mouth moved softly as he spelled the seven blocky letters out to himself: 'F-C-U-K-B-O-Y.'
It made Kenji laugh to himself, smug and even yeah, a little fond.
"You look good," Kamasaki said.

They were just going to check it out first, Simon explained. This witch was supposed to be really powerful but he had never dealt with her personally. And if she turned out to be unable to help them, he didn't want to get Celty's hopes up for nothing.

Keeley nodded like this was the most natural suggestion in the world. In response to their blank stares she added, “Stop looking at me that. Just trust me that this is our best option. I’m telling her we’re not coming for Christmas, obviously, and we’re not going for my birthday—” she visibly shuddered, like just the thought was enough to make her want to off herself, “And I’ll definitely be coming up with some excuse to get us out of Easter next year, which is all to say that I’ve got to give her something to get her off my back or she’ll never leave us alone again.”
