As Shin started his walk back to the apartment, he held up the plastic bag and opened it to take a second look at the goods: a cake and candles. They weren’t for him, but for his roommate Sou Hiyori.
Not knowing which flavor to get, he had made a wild guess and shot for strawberry shortcake. The bright red strawberry that sat atop of the fluffy white frosting seemed appetizing enough and Shin was confident that no one would turn down a bite of cake, regardless of the awkward circumstances.
