Summary
A collection of the shorter shorts, snippets, excerpts and ideas from the MIC AU. Most, if not all of these began life on tumblr and after a quick vote, the people have decided Archive needs the extra lore and softer tidbits. Any necessary warnings will be added in the notes.
(NOTE: Modern Inheritance/MIC is **NOT** a fully modern take on IC, but has some cherry-picked, modern-ish elements. Swords and Magic still abound! No cars, fighter jets, engines, electricity, cell phones, etc. to be found here! And no, we do not strap guns to Saphira. If I had a nickel every time....)

Summary

Fäolin loved her, and Arya loved him. Now Eragon loves her, and Arya loves Eragon.
There's always something...different, though. The different ways the two men saw the world and the way they saw her.
Fäolin wasn't wrong, and neither was she. But they weren't...they weren't always right, either, like neither of them quite saw the whole picture. Or maybe they did, and tried to forget. But Eragon? He saw it all, and never tried to hide. And he never wanted her to either.

Summary
What should have just been an outreach mission to help heal and treat citizens of a recently captured city goes wrong. Arya finds herself tossed into her own mind with little to no control over anything around her, watching confused and in pain as the world whips by. Outside her body, Eragon, Saphira, Glen, Blödhgarm and the other spellcaster guards work franticly to stabilize her, uniting as a family Eragon and Saphira had not quite realized had formed around them.
(More tags and characters to be added with updates. The first chapter only has Arya's POV, the rest will be Eragon and others.)
(Somewhat on hiatus. There is a chapter complete ready to go, but I want to be sure I have things for the next parts somewhat done before posting, and my brain has been moosh for months now. Thank you anyone still interested in this and my other stories! Still working on it and stumbling, but I will return.)

Set in the Modern Inheritance stories extended war. Eragon and Arya have a moment alone and have a bit of a conversation (while doing other things) about some of the preferences they've discovered during their burgeoning relationship. A somewhat amusing discovery is made.

The gods are a lot more similar to humans than most would think. For example, they feel. And as much as the mighty Goddess of Wisdom would like to claim otherwise, she has likely felt the most amongst all the gods.
Athena has felt many things. She has felt emotions, touch, pain. But Zeus's lightning bolts are a completely new feeling.
Athena fears it is the last time she will feel anything.

Yes, perhaps he indeed would check that Murtagh was still alive. He repeated himself, “How long has he been alone? When did you kill or dismiss everyone?”
Morzan sighed, further annoyed by the topic the longer it went on. “I don’t know. Five days? I think?”
He’s such an idiot. I can’t believe he just left him there. Durza made his exit.
Some peace and quiet in an empty castle would be well worth the annoying journey required to reach Morzan’s mountainous estate.
