He has been tried time and time again, and he’s just… tired.
But he’s also so angry.
So upset with the world that treated him so poorly. He’s not a bad kid. Is he? Does he deserve it in some way? Maybe. God does love to punish a sinner. But Jason doesn’t believe much in any God. At least, not anymore. Not since his twisted fate came to be.
Not since his saving grace couldn’t save him.
But all of that is besides the current point.
Yes, the current point, is this kid—of course it had to be a kid—is hurting.
Hurting so badly, she might just end it all.
Jason is definitely not qualified for this.

Together, they accidentally uncover a political conspiracy, crash several buildings, yell at each other a lot, and maybe sort of save Gotham a little.

The thing is, Tim wasn’t himself when he was looking for Bruce. In his grief, Tim was Red Robin, and Red Robin was built for solitude. Red Robin crossed lines that Tim Drake wouldn’t even tiptoe on. He was detached and gray and everything Tim had tried not to be as Robin. But now that Bruce is back, and Damian is Robin, and nobody really knows what he’s done- Red Robin is all he has left. And Red Robin was built for solitude.
There’s something wrong with Tim. The Tim Jason knew was poised, snarky, arrogant. A stubborn-as-shit asshole. And, of course, so loyal and committed to the Bat-legacy that Jason wasn’t really sure if the kid had any hobbies outside the suit. This new Tim, this Red Robin, is someone else entirely. Someone who’s one reckless crusade away from getting himself killed.
And Jason has a few things to say about dead Robins, Red or not.
Or: After Bruce returns from the time stream, Tim Drake keeps the mantle of Red Robin and throws himself into international cases to avoid going home. Jason runs into him, gets a bad feeling, and follows him to the ends of the earth (literally).

Life in Gotham can be really weird. Especially for Dick Grayson but he makes it work despite the weirdness. They did said that expect the unexpected and that life can be very unpredictable so made sure he can handle it.
But probably not to the point where he gets tangled up with the family drama of the Wayne Family and be stalked by vigilantes left and right.
Perhaps Commissioner Gordon was right, he is a catnip for people who dress up in ridiculous costumes and beat up the bad guys for a living.

Jason has been drowning for so long.
A man gone overboard and not seen by the crew. Atlantic waters crash over him and pull him into the black depths.
Dick doesn’t know how no one noticed it until now. That no one noticed that Jason was slowly dying..withering away. Struggling with a monumental battle in his own head. It was only noticed when the Red Hood stopped being spotted out in the streets of Gotham like some endangered species.
And god. It’s so much worse than anyone realized.
Or, Jason is struggling a lot with his mental health and familial ties. Only being noticed once Jason is too deep in his own illnesses. The question is, can the Wayne family help him..or will he simply sink down into the deep dark sea.

The quiet admission stunned Jason more than anything else Tim could have said. If there was one phrase he associated with Tim, it was "I'm ok."
That Tim felt so broken he admitted he wasn't ok... Jason wondered just how not ok he was.
