Summary
One of the main characters - the only surviving witness to a murder - has just woken from a coma. Not only is she entirely cognizant, but the first thing that the subtitles say she asks for is a lawyer.
“What are you fucking giggling about?”
The other person that’s been paying attention is Flambae. He’s right next to Robert on the couch, his arm slung over the top behind his head. One foot is propped up on the other knee, also pointing towards Robert, which has him caged in the corner by the arm rest. It’s probably some fucked-up power move. Robert has been ignoring it just to spite him.
“It’s just not how comas work,” Robert shrugs.
“Right, and you know because you’re a fucking doctor,” Flambae quips back.
“I know because I was in one, asshole.”

During a quiet night in, Robert realizes that his coma and injuries aren't common knowledge among Z-Team.
Most of them take the information in stride with jokes aplenty.
Flambae does not.

Another waitress places the gaudiest long island iced tea Jean ever did see in front of Harry. It’s a shade of blue so unnatural, it makes Jean wince.
“What the fuck? When did you even order that? And also why?”
Harry shrugs.
“I think the bartenders have a bet going, honestly, I haven’t really ordered anything in weeks, the drinks just show up. Though they are usually more traditional, but hey, I swing both ways.” Harry says suggestively, dipping his head forward seductively and immediately poking himself in the eye with the bright purple plastic straw. “ Ow!”
“Aren’t cops supposed to have good to great motor skills?” Jean mocks.
“You don’t get the cop, you get me.”
“There’s a big difference?”
“Massive.” Harry lies, not breaking eye contact, trying to blindly use his tongue to get his straw back into his mouth.

Summary
You come to when the Lieutenant grasps your wrist and bends it back. You don’t know if it's the pain or his low hiss that makes you snap back into yourself, but here you are.
Your context clues are few. Your heart is pounding, so you are starting to come down from the crest of great excitement or turmoil. Your cheeks are hot, your jaw is locked. Your brow feels tight - you must have been sporting a deep scowl until now.
You blink a couple of times. In front of you, Jean seems unfazed - whatever just happened didn’t ruffle his feathers. He has an unlit cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth. He’s biting down on the butt which he hates doing, but the wind is whipping, so strong and violent, he’s been trying to light it for a while now, to no avail. The filter is getting soaked with his saliva and it’s a sensory nightmare in his mouth.
You’re not sure how you know that.
“Lieutenant Kitsuragi, what are you doing?” Jean says.
“Du Bois was going to hit you, Officer Vicquemare.”
