If no one else in the school is going to stand up for the students of Hogwarts, then Harry would. Beacon was supposed to be a fresh start, a safer option.

Harry has no idea how he ended up in the past and managed to become the DADA teacher at Hogwarts, but he knows one thing for sure: He won’t be one of Dumbledore's pawns, and he won't be pulled into the bubbling war, if that means he has to play the idiot, so be it. He had enough incompetent teachers to know how to play the role.
