Dream didn't think his mask's enchantments were going to be puttering out during his roommate arc with the Blade, but the Nether will freeze before the world works as he wants it to. Even he knows that a newly sixteen-year-old admin isn't quite a scary enough villain to be cast for the role that needs to be filled.
He's fixed his slip-ups before, he can do it again. Now if only his biology wouldn't be a ticking time bomb for a second, he could get it done.

And Cas can't resist Dean because he's just like that and drives him crazy because he's a feisty brat

Summary
Dean’s used to living in solidarity. Well. Not really. He goes out on hunts, but he’s rooted down in Kansas. All because of a deal he made. One that involves him being with Alastair. And letting the demon do what he wants to Dean.
But then Dean bumps into Castiel. As they continue to meet each other, what with Dean frequenting Castiel’s brothers' shops, they form a slow and tenuous friendship.
Castiel is worried about the man he somehow formed a scent bond with - which should not be possible whatsoever, due to his status as an angel and the fact that his vessel already had a true mate. He tries to get to the bottom of why Dean is letting himself clearly be abused.
But neither of them are without their own secrets. So how will the omega react when he finds out the first person he let himself get close to after so long is not who - or rather, what he says he is?

Like everyone else Dean has always looked forward to his 21st birthday, when his countdown timer would appear and tell him how much longer he had until he met his soul mate. And at least then he would know whether or not he was an alpha like John always wanted, even though the name of his soul mate was written in a weird language he couldn't read.
But then it actually happened, and Dean was positive he actually met his soul mate... unless that was a dream. On the other hand, as the years go by and his countdown ticks away, the increased strength and vision, lack of a need for food or sleep, and weird new growths on his back that seem to be growing feathers(?!) suggest otherwise...
