Summary

Summary
Cut and Come Again: A method used to repeatedly harvest from a single plant over an extended period of time rather than harvesting, and therefore killing, the entire plant at one time. This is done by regularly harvesting only the outer leaves and leaving the inner leaves to continue growing.
Ghost gets up and dusts off the dirt clinging to his knees; Mr. Todd might be generous with the estate, but it was still private property.
He starts walking over but he’s not halfway to the oak tree when the stranger stands up with a frown on his face. He puts his pencil between his teeth, his sketchbook under his arm, and then proceeds to try and step into the cluster of honeysuckle that surrounds the oak.
“Oi!” Ghost barks without thought.
The man flinches and freezes, wobbling on one foot, the other is poised dangerously over the greenery.
If this stranger crushes so much as a single bloody leaf, Ghost will end him.

Summary
Soap doesn’t remember the ambush outside Prague. He doesn’t remember the medevac, the surgery, or the two weeks he spent in a coma. What he does remember is Ghost’s face when he wakes, sitting at his bedside like he hasn’t moved in days.
Turns out, Ghost’s been listed as his “next of kin.” Which is strange, because Soap doesn’t remember marrying his lieutenant, either. However, hospitals only allow family to stay overnight, and Ghost wasn’t about to leave.
Now, as Soap learns to walk again, Ghost helps him eat, move, and stay awake. It’s supposed to be just for practicality and convenience.
But there’s nothing practical about the way Ghost looks at him or the way Soap looks back.
Recovery is messy. So is pretending not to care.
Or: Soap survives the gunshot, and Ghost pretends to be his husband so he can take care of him

Summary
He catches up to Ghost easily enough. Their rooms are located in the same wing, a couple doors down from one another, separated by less than a dozen concrete walls and a flimsy metal lock. No one else is there when they reach their destination so before Ghost can slip into his own room, and past Johnny’s grasping fingertips, he taps his knuckles against Ghost’s arm to catch his attention.
Ghost rolls his shoulders back the way he does when preparing for a fight and Soap unconsciously matches him by planting his feet. Coiled on the defence, like a damn snake hoping not to get stepped on.
In the aftermath of their mission, and the subsequent conversation in Ghost's quarters, Johnny notices a newfound distance between them. Stonewalled at every opportunity, it doesn't take long for his patience to wear thin. He doesn't expect much to change after a disastrous attempt at communication but when his rut dawns on the horizon he tosses a proposition his lieutenant's way regardless.

Summary
Soap settles onto the small couch like it's a throne, his relaxed posture radiating quiet confidence, one arm thrown across the back and his legs spread wide enough it's clear he has no intention of leaving room for his alpha toy to sit next to him. He hardly has to gesture towards the floor in front of himself before Simon is dropping to his knees so fast it hurts. He crawls forward till he's directly between Johnny's knees and is rewarded with a hand carding through his hair, nails gently scraping against his scalp where the hair is buzzed short. He leans into the touch, trying his best to be subtle, and follows where the hand guides him, his cheek coming to rest on Johnny's thigh as he gazes up at him.

The CIA calls in a favor the 141 owes, sending Ghost and Soap undercover at an arms dealer's fancy party. Not their forte, but simple enough. The catch? Their cover is as a rich man and his sugar baby, and the sugar daddy can't be an alpha—it can't be Ghost. Good thing pretending to be Soap's submissive boy toy comes all too naturally.

Summary
It started out fine.
A visiting SAS captain would be joining them for a few weeks, and it was nothing short of normal, nothing other than perfectly fine. The captain knew Simon, though – knew him before he was Ghost, knew him when they were both FNGs and had no idea how to tie their boots properly let alone specialize in anything like they did today. He’d walked up to Simon and clapped him on the shoulder, somehow looming tall over the lieutenant, and flashed a dimpled grin.
Johnny locked eyes with the captain. He was met with something irritated looking back at him, the captain’s eyes running over him from top to bottom before back up, narrowing again as they made eye contact. Soap watched as the captain settled a hand on Ghost’s back — low, far lower than could be seen as casual. He looked back at Soap with a victorious look in his eye, raising an eyebrow at the sergeant in a challenge before whispering something to Simon as they took their leave, his hand still settled deep on Ghost’s back.
No, this wasn’t fine at all.

But Ghost didn’t seem to mind, quietly filling the kettle before setting it to boil, those dark eyes watching as John paced the kitchen, one arm flailing about in the air, the other locked tight around his half-melted pint of rocky road.
He told Ghost he was stressed. That the entire MacTavish clan was coming into town, which meant awkward hugs, judgmental stares, and nosy questions from people he hadn’t seen in years. John could handle all of that, he really could.
But what he couldn’t handle was the questions. Why he hadn’t settled down yet, why he didn’t have a nice Scottish girl on his arm.
Why he wasn’t married with a child on the way, because Ethel and James weren’t getting younger, and John was already too old. For fuck’s sake.
“Maybe I don’t want to bring home a wee lass,” John had snapped, voice cracking as he dug his spoon in harder than necessary, a brown, congealed clump of freezer-burned rocky road flying onto the floor. “Maybe I don’t even like women, has anyone considered that?”
And there, in less than twenty words, John had completely outed himself.

Soap is dropped into a friendly location to meet up with his new team, the TF141. They're engaging in cold weather survival training and he's set with coordinates to meet the legendary Ghost. Unfortunately for him, between the terrain and a local issue the authorities are having but not advertising, that meeting turns into a game of tracking and survival. Once their issues are resolved, the local authorities require they remain in the country a few days for questioning. Darn.

“They say the Ghost has no heart,” the soldier says, casual like he’s just come back from an evening stroll instead of a torture session. Without breaking eye contact, he taps the tip of his knife, still wet with Johnny’s blood, against the one-way glass, leaving behind a smear of crimson. “But I do not think that is true. I think I have found the Ghost’s heart, and I have strung it up like meat from butcher. Right. There.”
The man smiles, close-lipped and unassuming, and that disturbs Ghost more than any grin with too many sharp teeth ever will.
“It is pretty heart. Very pretty. But like butcher, I will carve it up in front of you if you do not tell me what I want to know."
