At first having a baby didn't seem like that big of a deal. Jupiter is good with kids, and Caine is happy about expanding his pack. Problem is the closer they get to the due date, the more Caine worries about loosing his patience or accidentally hurting it.
Jupiter also finds out that the baby is a boy and most likely is a reincarnation of Balem which would naturally put anyone on edge.
