Dan Heng accepts a job at the prestigious Herta Marine Center and finds himself back in the quiet beachside town of Astral Cove where he grew up. Of course, some things never change-- and before long he finds himself roped into another one of childhood best friend March's questionable adventures.
When a poorly-planned trip to Mara Island strands Dan Heng, March and new friend Stelle in a mysterious volcanic pool under a full moon, their lives are forever changed. Can the three solve the mystery of their new mermaid powers, all while staying hidden from the prying eyes of the Herta Center?

It was a heatwave, so what better way than to end a long day of work with a boat trip while the sun sets? All three of them never knew what fate was actually awaiting them, and unknowingly walked into an adventure that would change all of their lives. Underneath the full moon in the crater of a volcano, they never knew that they would be bestowed a blessing; or in hindsight, a curse?
March, Stelle and Dan Heng have to find out how to balance their new lives while keeping their secrets without any clue what happened, nor what exactly changed. How difficult can keeping secrets really be when you're one drop of water away from spilling everything? Will the shared secret between them drive them closer or actually apart?

The first thing I remember in this life was the cold.
The second thing I remember were the kindest eyes I’ve ever seen. A red-haired lady, a guy with glasses and his curious companion, and a strict-looking man. Plus the cutest bunny ever! But don’t tell the conductor I said that.
They gave me this bowl of soup to eat while I warmed up. It was really tasty. Comfort in a bowl! Just thinking about it is making me salivate.
So! I want to learn how to make it! Keep it a secret though. I can’t wait to see the surprise on their faces when they see!
All the ways the Astral Express have shown their love through food, and the journey of March 7th to give back through the warmth of a good soup. No matter what happens, no matter what may come; love is always there in a dish well made.
