The Addams family curse has hit Wednesday Addams, and of course, in a cruel sense of irony, it chose Enid Sinclair. The one person in the whole world that Wednesday can't have, kiss, or hold. Doomed to love Enid tragically from afar so as not to interfere with her slow-going relationship with Bruno. She just wants Enid to be happy, even if it isn't with her. Even if it kills her.
Enid used to always be so sure of what she had wanted or even who. She loved Bruno, and due to how quickly things had heated up between them in school, she wanted to slow things down, just to be sure they were right for each other. She was so certain that Bruno was meant to be her mate, until he got down on one knee at their tenth anniversary dinner and asked, "Enid Sinclair, will you marry me?"
And her whole-hearted response was, "No."

I knew you were it for me, but I wasn’t ready to be who you needed back then. Not yet.” He watches as her lower lip quivers, her mouth caught between trying to hold in a sob or let loose a smile. “My mom told me not to screw things up with you, but I think maybe I needed to screw it up to be able to make it here.
“You’re my other half, Rey. You’re my purpose in life. My best friend. My love. Everyday you give me more of yourself, but I can’t help asking for something else.” He takes her hand in his, rubs his thumb along her naked ring finger. “Be with me. Be my wife.”

Post TLJ - The Resistance has been beaten down to nearly nothing. They've made it to an old abandoned moisture farm in the middle of nowhere, Tatooine and are doing everything they can to survive. Kylo Ren is now the Supreme Leader of the galaxy, and has decided it's time for some changes. He doesn't see the point in hunting down his mother and the rest of her followers, but understands that to ignore them completely is a recipe for disaster. The Knights of Ren should do just fine. Hux has decided he's had enough of force users for a life time, but must bide his time to remove them and seize control. Rey knows that she needs a lightsaber and that the fight will find them sooner rather then later, but how can she continue her training while keeping the rebels alive in the desert? They need a money, a plan, a ship, a prayer. Oh, and they still have that pesky force bond... Kinda hard to forget about the woman who denied you when she's suddenly asleep on your floor.
This fic is going to be a slooooooow burn.
