“right. so those things showed up and obviously most of us had no fucking clue what was up, so a bunch of people died. i don’t know if you saw, but it has these fleshy arm thingies- not even arms. tentacles? vines? not sure what to call them, but they come down and what basically happens is there’s this spike thingy and if it finds you, the spike thingy just shoots out, then boom, you’re dead.”
“yikes.”
“from what i’ve seen, it’ll usually just keep your body on the spike and pull you up inside. after that, no real clue.”
“that’s… that sounds like a pretty shitty way to go.”
“it’s never pretty. you lucked out, though, because- full honesty- had you not seen me, i probably wouldn’t have let you in. nothing personal, just don’t wanna get myself killed.”
