Summary
Remus was back— not home, this place hadn’t been home in a long time— but back. Back in London and twisting his key into the sticky lock, jiggling it slightly in that ever-familiar way and forcing the door open.
He stepped inside reluctantly, dropping his luggage to the ground and collapsing onto the seat in the entryway. He pried his shoes off and sat there, in the dim hallway of his poky flat, eyeing the year-old dust covering the surfaces and wondering, painfully, how it had come to this.

OR: One week ago Remus saw Sirius at the Shrieking Shack for the first time in twelve years. Now, he's back in their old London flat, trying to overwrite the decade of lies he'd been made to believe, when Padfoot shows up on the doorstep. -

Summary
“Well,” Remus says quietly, “you don’t let people know you."
“And you’re saying you know me?” Sirius drawls, leaning back in his chair. “You’re the only one?”
The half-arsed derision in his tone doesn’t seem to surprise or intimidate Remus. He only smiles, knowing.
It is one thing to love a person; it is quite another to see them as they truly are and to love them all the same. And sometimes, Sirius thinks, he’d rather die than let anybody see beneath the defensive facade of his brave face.
From 1971 to 1978, the Hogwarts years of obsession, betrayal, recklessness, lies, too much drink, insecurity, and all eclipsing sexual frustration. Seven years of Sirius Black’s insufferable god-complex, of Remus Lupin’s most private shames, of secret relationships, awkward hookups, James Potter’s blunt advice, and more yearning than sense. Seven years for Sirius to finally admit to himself that what he wants is not only to be loved, but to be known entirely. And therein lies the difficulty.

Summary
“Hello, Sirius.”
The voice is quiet, barely audible over the shriek of another inmate begging for the patronus to come nearer to them and give them the same respite from the Dementor's horrors, but Sirius hears it. He knows it. The rough accent, cracked and broken resonates deeper inside of him than his own voice would. The sound of it makes him feel as though he can draw breath for the first time in what feels like forever. The voice is relief and warmth and heartbreak all wrapped together.
.
What would happen if desperate for closure, Remus paid a visit to Azkaban to seek answers to his questions? What if finding those answers sooner changed everything?

Summary
Nobody warned Sirius how awkward coming back from the dead could be.
In exchange for saving him, Hermione gave Sirius only one instruction: “We can’t interfere,” she insisted. “If anyone finds out you’re alive before the right time it will ruin everything.” Too bad that Sirius Black was never very good at respecting rules.
Of course, if he had followed the rules, he wouldn't have discovered that Remus Lupin has apparently taken his death rather badly.
