“Y’know, smoking's bad for you.” Ray's voice was much clearer here than in Gerard's fuzzy memories of when they'd first properly met.
“I know.” Gerard said, breathing out the smoke, turning to look at the man standing next to him.
Ray had a hood pulled over his head from a windbreaker that he had on, and in the dim light Gerard could see the top of his guitar case that was slung over his back. He could also see his smile pulled a bit too wide, and could barely see his eyes darting around like he didn’t want to look directly at Gerard.

“Are you hurt anywhere else?” She asked, watching Illi lean against the sink and sigh.
“No, I’m not bleeding anywhere else.” She spoke softly.

Summary
Being in a band with a Werewolf was a little weird sometimes. It meant that they could never play under full moons, and that had been an odd conversation to have with Brian who figured out that they were hiding something from him. Gerard may have been the only one who knew Ray was a Werewolf for quite some time.
But it also meant, at least right now, that full moons meant they had to stop somewhere. It usually meant sleeping in the van, being parked on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, and praying that they weren't trespassing on private property.

“Ray?” Gerard managed to say, fumbling with his words. That didn't sound right. Why did his voice sound like that? Sitting up, Gerard kept looking around in the very dim light. Normally his vague semblance of night vision did not look like this. He could see way too much. “Ray, Baby, Where-?”
His voice sounded so odd, yet so familiar as if he was used to hearing it from someone else.
Gripping a tree, Gerard hauled himself up so he could get a better look at everything in the underbrush. Ray was still nowhere to be seen, but he was sure that he was around here somewhere. Gerard needed his jacket because there was a good chance they weren't going to get out of here before sunrise.

It was nothing that he’d seen before, a simple black skirt that seemed like it would go down to around someone's mid-thigh. So Ray knew it wasn’t from somebody on campus because none of them would willingly wear black and that Gerard had found that somewhere else.

“You’re really calm.” Gerard said, letting the blunt hang in his hands as he hung his arms over his legs, staring at Ray who was sitting right beside him, feeling like he was staring into the other guys soul. “Like, calming. You’re calming.”
Ray looked at him and he was suddenly very aware that their shoulders were touching and they were sitting right next to each other. Gerard was right next to Ray, and this was normal. This was normal to stare into your best friend's eyes while high as hell, and be well aware of his shoulder against your own and flick your eyes down to his lips and just being high with him.
