Summary
Soap is physically affectionate by nature.
Ghost is not.
Johnny might just be rubbing off on him though.

Summary
The amazing @unspecificedfigure on Instagram created art for a Streamer AU with the boys, and I wanted to explore that universe!
THE ORIGINAL POSTJohn 'Soap' MacTavish struggled when he was discharged from military service for medical reasons, but with the help of his friend Kyle and inspired by the streamer 'Ghost' who talks about similar experiences, he finds himself a fairly popular streamer. Then his hero-turned-crush follows him, and he tried to keep his like from spiraling once more.
OR
The one where Soap has to recontextualize his hero-worship as he gets to know the real man behind the persona @ghostghames, and where Ghost has to let people into his life other than his flat mate and former Captain. Chronic pain, PTSD, video games, and crafts. What could go wrong?

Summary
A mission that doesn't go as planned detonates the attraction that Soap and Ghost have been dancing around for months. But they both have their reasons for remaining apart, and the fear of rejection they don't know they share threatens to end any chance they have together.
Or T4T Ghost/Soap where neither knows the other is trans, and both are afraid of being rejected for being trans. shenanigans ensue.

Summary
It was a dream, John flying out to London to meet with the team, Price explaining that he would get his in-house editors working on the project, that revisions and such usually took a few months. But everything was handled for him, the cover artist, the designs for the physical book itself, social media promotions. Everything.
And John didn’t even have words for how excited he was.
He glances at the name of the editor one more time, brows furrowed as he tries to remember who the fuck Ghost is. He met a ton of people at the office the other day, John Price welcoming him with open arms before introducing him to his team, a small group, and yet John knows he would remember the name of this person.
Seeing as it really wasn’t a name at all.

Summary
After a mission gone wrong leaves Simon “Ghost” Riley deaf in one ear and Johnny “Soap” MacTavish with a permanent leg injury, both men are forced into early retirement. Soap uses his pension to buy a crumbling house on the edge of a quiet town, determined to make something of it, even if the place looks like it should’ve come with a tetanus shot.
Ghost shows up with a duffel bag and his usual scowl, moving into the guest room to help with renovations. Between faulty wiring, leaking pipes, and a fridge that seems to growl at two a.m., the two of them fall into a new rhythm of grocery runs, hardware store trips, and late-night fixes. The banter is sharp, the silences softer than either expected, and somewhere between the broken walls and peeling paint, they begin to rebuild more than just the house.
It’s a story about finding purpose when the battlefield is gone, about healing old wounds in the comfort of shared domestic chaos, and about realizing that sometimes “home” isn’t a place, it’s each other.

Summary
“Captain, what are you saying?” Price demanded.
Another deep breath. “I regret to inform you that at approximately 04:32, Lieutenant Ghost was declared KIA due to an infrastructure collapse. The building they were infiltrating was lined with explosives – Lieutenant Ghost reentered the building to attempt to rescue a downed man when the explosives were set off, triggering a building collapse. I’m truly sorry, Captain. My men owe him their lives and none of us will ever forget that, I promise you.”
Soap felt his knees buckle underneath him, Gaz’s arms shooting out to grab him and ease his descent to the floor. Soap looked at Gaz and saw the distraught expression even through his increasingly blurry vision. “He’s gone?” Soap asked, searching Gaz’s eyes for any refute.
“Tav-”
“He’s gone?” Soap asked again, his voice cracking and shattering like his heart. He couldn’t breathe, his chest aching and burning as he tried to keep himself from breaking apart at the seams.

Summary
There’s a ghost haunting the 141 common room. At least, Soap is about 80% sure there is, which is, in fairness, realistically about as sure as anyone could reasonably be about spooks haunting their workplace. He’s not stupid, he knows no one else is going to believe him if he brings it up. The scorn if he suddenly starts harping on about ghosties and ghoulies.
None of that negates the fact that there definitely is one though. Probably.

Summary
Soap had always been confident in his identity as a straight man, but lately he’d been having one too many conflicting thoughts about Ghost — he was well aware admiration didn’t go as far as what he felt for the lieutenant.
To put his attention elsewhere, Soap went looking for a distraction. Said distraction wore a slip dress, with short blonde hair and some deliciously defined shoulders and arse.

Summary
“I can’t promise,” Ghost whispered, holding onto Soap’s face like his life depended on it, “but if we make it out, my retirement is yours.”
Soap’s smile broadened to wrinkle his eyes and push against Ghost’s palms. “Can you at least promise to try?”
“Yeah,” Ghost vowed as his fingers mapped out Soap’s eyebrows, nose, lips, unable to stop himself from darting in to kiss him. “Yeah, I can do that. Can you promise to not do anything stupid?”
“Define stupid,” Soap said with a grin. Ghost simply levelled him with a deadpan stare, which softened the grin instantly. “Alright, yeah, I promise.”A mission gone wrong, broken promises, an early retirement, and eight months of tense domesticity.
After that, Ghost didn't see or talk to Soap in seven months. When he finally caved and tries an app Laswell, Price, and Gaz have been trying to force on him, he matches with someone who breaks down his defences with ease. Ghost refuses to admit to himself that he knows who his match is.Bookmarked by astrangebird

Summary
But Ghost didn’t seem to mind, quietly filling the kettle before setting it to boil, those dark eyes watching as John paced the kitchen, one arm flailing about in the air, the other locked tight around his half-melted pint of rocky road.
He told Ghost he was stressed. That the entire MacTavish clan was coming into town, which meant awkward hugs, judgmental stares, and nosy questions from people he hadn’t seen in years. John could handle all of that, he really could.
But what he couldn’t handle was the questions. Why he hadn’t settled down yet, why he didn’t have a nice Scottish girl on his arm.
Why he wasn’t married with a child on the way, because Ethel and James weren’t getting younger, and John was already too old. For fuck’s sake.
“Maybe I don’t want to bring home a wee lass,” John had snapped, voice cracking as he dug his spoon in harder than necessary, a brown, congealed clump of freezer-burned rocky road flying onto the floor. “Maybe I don’t even like women, has anyone considered that?”
And there, in less than twenty words, John had completely outed himself.

Summary
There is nothing grounding him, nothing that keeps the voices out. No direction but forward. No direction but Johnny.
The last thing Ghost sees before crashing into Soap are his wide, crystal blue eyes and his mouth opening, not quickly enough to get anything out except for a strangled "Ghost-".
Their bodies connect with a shock. Ghost was prepared for the impact of body against body, the sudden heat and the pressure on his skin that felt grounding despite the pain. However, he didn't anticipate the crack of lightning rushing through his body the moment he touches Soap.
It shocks him right to his very core.
Ghost has long escaped his imprisonment at Roba's, most of his traumatic experiences burrowed deep in the most hidden corners of his brain.
Why is it now, with Johnny getting closer that he's plagued by nightmares and flashbacks? There is something special about the man, something scary... What is it Ghost doesn't remember?

Summary
The crushing reality of hindsight, really, is that when it hits there’s nothing left but a front row seat to every second of every failure, speckled with the dust of what might have been. It’s painful, it’s meant to be. It’s the consequence of holding something so beautiful and precious, and not caring enough to stop its fall.
In this moment, sitting alone in his room surrounded by scrap memories drawn out in cheap pencils and charcoal, crooked smiles and warm eyes and the leaden weight of regret in his chest, it feels like an explosion he didn’t move far enough away from. It feels like his own ruin rushing up to meet him, his own hand on the trigger. Everything he could have ever wanted offered up to him on a silver platter and he tipped the whole damn thing into the dirt.

Summary
Fucking hell what was he even doing? He wasn’t a model. Who wanted to look at an ex-soldier going on 40? And not even a particularly fit one at that.
He sucked his belly in and flexed, feeling like an idiot. Like this, though, he looked a lot like he did in the SAS. Maybe that’d fool the artist?
Or: Ghost is a retired soldier with too much time and money on his hands. Soap is an art student with too little of both. An ad for modeling that Soap puts out brings them together and Ghost gradually learns how to love his new life.

Summary
Ghost was watching him too closely now. “The risk. The thrill. The fact that we’re sittin’ in the middle of the desert about to slip past an enemy patrol, and yet—” he leaned in slightly, voice dropping— “you can’t stop flirtin’ with me.”
Soap’s pulse kicked up, but he refused to let it show. “Y’been observin’ me a lot, then?”
“Maybe.” Ghost didn’t move, but Soap could hear his smirk behind the mask. “I think you just get off on danger.”

Summary
A traumatised lieutenant, an oblivious sergeant and an unsuspecting family meet up in a Scottish farmstead… What sounds like the beginning of a bad joke is actually Ghost’s current reality. He has no clue how the fuck Soap managed to drag him into the Highlands to meet his parents– okay, yeah, he does. He’s stupidly in love with his Johnny; there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for him, including making a complete fool out of himself trying to fit into Soap’s family.
If only he could fit in. If only he knew how to act like a regular human being. If only he wasn’t a monster.
Maybe then, he could figure out a way to keep Soap.

Summary
Their entire dynamic is about to change. Johnny will either be internally disgusted and won’t show it, but will still fuck him because he said he would and that’s just the kind of honourable man he is…or he will become such a raging feral dog upon learning what was done to Ghost, that all thoughts of sex will vanish and be replaced with murder. He isn’t sure which is worse.

Summary
“Ye gotta give me something, LT,” Soap joked as he scanned the Shadow’s lifeless form for anything useful, “Is it a unique mark?"
"All marks are unique, Soap,” Ghost’s sigh was crackly in his ear.
“I mean, would ye know if ye met them?” Soap continued, pulling a knife from a holster on the Shadow’s waist.
There was a pause over the comms.
“I’d know. Might take me a few minutes, but I’d know,” Ghost’s voice had dipped to a low rumble and Soap was pretty sure he’d been able to hear his own heart break over the words.
