Prewarning, stancy at the beginning (sorry)A rewrite of the entirety of stranger things in which Eddie plays a bigger roll, especially in Steve’s life. The two have an unspoken agreement, they go to each other when something is up, knowing neither one will ask the questions that cannot be answered. Until those questions suddenly have to be answered.
“To what do I owe this pleasure, my liege.” His voice drops a semi-tone at the last two words, my stomach tightening as I look away from him.
“Thought you’d be lost without me.” Slips out of my mouth before I can think any better, but he just laughs and gestures towards his trailer.
“Uncle Wayne might be asleep so.. “ He trails off, dragging a ringed finger over his lips and sticking his other hand in his pocket to feel for something.
“I can come back at a better time?” I mutter hoping he disagrees with me
“No, no, man, just wait here, I know a spot, just gotta grab supplies.” And just like that, poof, he’s disappearing into the trailer. -

At this point Steve isn't entirely sure who he's talking to, when a soft voice mutters in his ear, "Why are you helping me?"

Eddies limply shakes his head, eyes getting heavy, "Let me stay here, there's nothing back there for me."
"Don't say that, please don't say that." Steve wobbles to the trailer, "I'll clear your name, if it's the last thing I do."
Spluttering out blood, Eddie attempts a chuckle. The frozen body in Steve's arms makes panic surge in his veins. It's almost as if his body went into autopilot, not knowing what he's doing.
