Summary
Obi-Wan remembers a moment with Anakin from early in the Clone Wars as he settles into his new home on Tatooine.
|| “I haven’t eaten anything other than rations in months,” Obi-Wan had let slip as he hummed into the bowl of noodles Anakin had bought him. That had made Anakin stop chewing at look at Obi-Wan as if he was the most breakable creature in the galaxy. The look made Obi-Wan feel a mashing of emotions, ones he couldn’t begin to name let alone release into the Force. He knew it wasn’t pity that Anakin felt, but rather worry and care, but that just made the guilt worse.
“I’ll ask Master Yoda to put us on a mission together,” Anakin finally said, eyes not parting from Obi-Wan’s face. He just rolled his eyes in response.
“Are you worried your old master needs a caretaker? Am I greying that much, dear one?” Obi-Wan could feel the crinkles of affection around his eyes as he joked with Anakin, who bit back a grin and looked down into his broth.
“Maybe I am worried, you’re looking thin, Master.” That made Obi-Wan shake his head,
“The war is hard on us all, we are all managing our best, young one.” || -

“Don’t say that. It’s not worth caring about me, so don’t.” And that awful feeling felt even bigger, and Finnick couldn’t breathe. || -

|| “Every time you write I get this weird feeling there’s something you aren’t asking. It’s like you are walking on eggshells around me. And I know you don’t walk on eggshells around Peeta or Annie, so hey. Spit it out, kid. What’s up?” Katniss looked down into her drink. Peeta and Annie were in the kitchen, a room away, cleaning up after dinner. They cooked together, talked in their own way. Healed. Finnick knew it was easy for them to have each other, plus the baby liked Peeta. He was strangely good with kids, even though he said he didn’t have younger siblings.
“I don’t want to pry,” Katniss started and Finnick laughed. Her eyes looked apologetic in a way they never did. This was a side of Katniss that rarely showed. A part that was timid.
“Never prying with me, I’m an open book.” Finnick grinned in the playful way he fell back on. Katniss gulped. || -

I want you to hold me too close. He had announced to her eyes, her perfection, her life. Now all he wanted was to be crashing into Hannibal until they were nothing but a pile of broken body parts and blood. Why couldn’t they have died in those waves? ||

Steve Harrington was sick of boring. He was sick of girls having boyfriends, and babysitting upcoming high school sophomores. So this August evening, he was sat on a couch with beer in his hand in the house of some junior he’d never met. It was Chrissy Cunningham’s birthday, and a monumental one according to Eddie. Not only had she lived through this year, a miracle since her two month long hospital stay in March, but also because Jason had been dumped.
“Who’s Jason again?” Steve yelled over the music to Eddie Munson, the only un-boring part of his life. Eddie Munson was beer-free and probably high as shit, smiling dopely at Steve with his big excited eyes. Eddie Munson was weird, a freak, and Steve was honestly surprised he had even been invited to some high school party.
“He’s the new you!” Eddie smiled his wide crooked smile. The new you. The new Steve.

“Hawkeye shoots arrows at bad guys and he saves the city every time there’s trouble. He’s not that big and strong but he knows what he’s doing. He also does stupid stuff a lot, that’s what mommy says.” Kate laughed and nodded. Yeah, she did do all those things.
“Yeah, I guess when you put it like that I am kind of like Hawkeye.” Nate nodded and stood up.
