Except Old Man McDentist didn't stand in the doorway when Ronan looked toward it. A very non-geriatric guy did. Youngish, but not young. Maybe early thirties—Ronan's age—or possibly a year older. Two at the most. How long was dental school? Four years? Eight? However long, the guy didn't look like a fresh graduate in his perfectly pressed chinos and light blue collared shirt, a gray quarter-zip fleece layered on top of it with his practice's name and logo embroidered on one side of his chest, his name embroidered on the other.

It might have been the pain thinking, but Ronan prayed to God that cavities would start rapidly eating away at his teeth, if only so he had more reasons to visit this guy at his office. Gaunt cheeked. Dusty haired. Blue eyed—and shit, they were pretty blue eyes.
Goddamn, he was perfect.
Dr. Parrish.
Dr. Adam Parrish.
And, in a minute or two, Dr. Parrish's hands would be in Ronan's mouth.
It was definitely not the pain talking when Ronan said, "Fuck me."

What the actual fuck. Nam-gyu scrambles backwards with a yell, eyes wide and terrified. This has to be some form of hallucination or something, There’s no way this is happening. Nam-gyu watched Thanos die. He watched as his eyes turned glassy, seeming to suck the life out of the entire room. He pried the cross from Thanos’ cold dead hands, felt the sticky warmth of Thanos’ blood seep into his clothes.
Thanos died, Nam-gyu watched him die, but here he is, sitting cross-legged on the floor with a goofy grin, covered in blood. He waves, a little flick of his wrist that only serves to make Nam-gyu more scared. He must be hallucinating. Yeah, that’s definitely it. He took one too many pills and is currently tripping balls in his spot in Thanos’ dormitory bed. That’s the only logical explanation.
Or: Nam-gyu dies. What happens next?

Love to Declan Lynch was a never-ending task list. It was driving Matthew to practice, making sure his school uniforms got cleaned, keeping him on a regular schedule. It was keeping Ronan from getting expelled, paying for his numerous speeding tickets, making sure Gansey didn’t let him stray too far. Love was fights in parking lots and in his car after church and everywhere because Ronan couldn’t fucking keep it together enough to help himself. It was knowing that he was only a shadow of his parents.
Love was a burden, and Declan could not handle any more of it.
